For one week each year, the Showpass team steps away from their usual work to experiment, create, and bring new ideas to life.
This year’s theme: LEGO Building Blocks.
Like LEGO, Showpass is built piece by piece — but always by design. Each block connects with purpose, forming a unified system that powers the entire live event ecosystem. Every component from checkout to scanning to analytics, is designed to work seamlessly together, giving organizers the tools, data, and flexibility they need to create unforgettable fan experiences.
The goal of Hackathon is to keep stacking on new ideas that strengthen this foundation, making the platform smarter, faster, and more intuitive with every build.
Across every corner of Showpass from engineering to design, product, marketing, and operations, 77 team members joined forces for a week of fast-paced creativity. Together, they built prototypes that capture what drives us most: innovation, collaboration, and event organizer empowerment.
Reimagining how venues come to life.
Layout Builder 2.0 takes one of our most powerful tools and makes it even more intuitive. With a refreshed interface and the highly anticipated View from Section feature, organizers may soon be able to visualize and launch assigned seating events faster and more confidently than ever.

"Building a more intuitively powerful layout builder is essential for competing with other major players in the space," said Eric Gadbois, Associate Product Owner.
A live pulse check for every partnership.
This team is developing a dashboard that gives Showpass teams real-time insight into client engagement and success. The tool brings together key performance signals to help our teams stay proactive, responsive, and aligned with every client’s goals.

“We wanted to make client health available at the tips of your fingers," shared Luke Warnholtz, Client Success Operations Specialist
Performance that scales with demand.
High-demand on-sales are some of the biggest moments in live events. This team focused on optimizing performance and reliability for major ticket drops, ensuring fans enjoy a fast, seamless checkout experience from start to finish.

“With Onsale Orchestration, we’ve turned the pain points across the customer, organizer, and Showpass journey into an opportunity, making every on-sale feel effortless, visible, and built to convert” said Morgan Gelinas, Product Designer.
AI that works alongside us.
Tix Co-Pilot is an internal AI assistant designed to make information retrieval instant. From event insights to sales data, it gives teams quick access to the knowledge they need, while automating routine tasks so they can focus on what matters most — innovation and service.

“We wanted to make Showpass data feel alive — not something buried in dashboards, but something every team can interact with in real time,” explained Aidan Van Walleghem, Client Success Manager
Empowering organizers to own the process.
The Resale & Waitlist project introduces a new self-serve builder that gives organizers more flexibility and control. They’ll be able to configure resales and waitlists directly within Showpass — unlocking new ways to manage demand, engage fans, and keep more tickets in the primary ecosystem.

“The goal of our project is to provide organizers that partner up with us with the best and most impactful tools in this industry." said Alvi Tabriz, Senior BDR.
Turning trust into ticket sales.
This project introduces credibility signals, like reviews, badges, and popularity indicators, to help fans discover trending, trusted events faster. It’s a simple but powerful way to build confidence and drive conversions.

“We wanted to turn community validation into the final push that drives purchase decisions.” said April Duong, Front-End Staff Developer.
The Hackathon isn’t just about building products, it’s about building momentum. Each project represents another step toward our vision of making Showpass the operating system for live events: a connected ecosystem where organizers have full control, fans have a seamless experience, and innovation never stops.
“Hackathon week is one of my favourite times at Showpass,” said Lucas McCarthy, CEO of Showpass. “It captures everything I love about this team — the creativity, the collaboration, and the drive to make live events better for everyone.”
From smarter tools to AI copilots and new discovery features, this year’s teams are shaping what’s next — one building block at a time.
