Intersection is an event that pushes crews of artistic snow sports visionaries to their limits as they aim to create a masterpiece that truly captures the beauty of ski and snowboard culture.
Invited crews and one Wild Card selection, will have a 12-day window to shoot, edit, and submit a five to seven-minute winter action sports film.  The show takes place April 8th at the Whistler Conference Centre where each film will be judged live, by a panel of industry experts and the audience!Our charitable partner for Intersection is Whistler Adaptive Sports Program. They will have a booth in the Foyer during the event to learn more about their work. In the meantime, check out their website!

Join us for this throwback WSSF classic, a high-energy charity hockey showdown where skiers and snowboarders battle it out on the ice to kick off festival week in true mountain culture style. Equal parts rivalry and good times, this fun and competitive matchup brings together local legends, industry personalities, and passionate riders for a night that is just as entertaining off the ice as it is on it.
Expect fast-paced action, highlight-reel moments, and plenty of laughs, all backed by a live DJ, in-game announcers, giveaways, and prizing throughout the night. The arena will be buzzing as fans rally behind their side and the friendly skier-versus-snowboarder rivalry takes centre stage.
The skiers hit the ice as the Blackcomb Bombers, captained by Callum Pettit, while the snowboarders roll in as the Powder Hounds, led by Mark McMorris.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to the McMorris Foundation, supporting youth and community initiatives and reinforcing WSSF’s commitment to giving back.

More than just an art sale, Buying Night is a vibrant experience featuring music by Vinyl Ritchie, an indulgent food spread from Flute & Fromage, a pop-up bar, and a few surprises along the way. The Mountain Skills Sessions are designed for intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders who want to strengthen their safety systems, decision-making, and rescue response in mountain environments.
Participants will spend the day working through hands-on, guide-led clinics focused on practical backcountry safety skills, including:


Crevasse rescue and rope systems for glaciated and high-alpine terrain


Wilderness first aid scenarios, including improvised splinting, hypothermia management, and emergency evacuation decisions


Companion rescue techniques for avalanche incidents, including modern transceiver search strategies, probing, and efficient shovelling methods


The emphasis is on real-world application: how to communicate clearly, respond quickly, and manage emergencies with the tools already in your pack.
You won’t leave with a formal credential; the focus is on practical application, communication under stress, and building habits that transfer directly into backcountry and sidecountry environments.
Morning coffee + pastries included. All Mountain Skills participants receive access to the Safety Shred Days Après with bites provided by King’s Hawaiian. Our DJ will help kick off the party with dancing, and beverages will be available from Gibbons Apres Lager, Cinco Drink Co., and The Straight and Narrow to celebrate a day well spent.

Opera comes to Whistler! A concert for everyone from solid opera fans to those who are brand new to opera but curious to know more. Soprano Anne Grimm, tenor Benjamin Butterfield and baritone Alexander Dobson will treat listeners to the best and most well-loved opera hits with gorgeous arias, moving duets and lively trios, along with engaging chat to amuse and enlighten. These wonderful voices will be accompanied by pianist Frances Armstrong and violinist Jimi Shin Dobson for an exceptional musical experience. Proudly presented by Whistler Chamber Music.

People’s Film nights aren’t just movie screenings. They’re full-on events. Showing up in costume is always encouraged (but definitely not required)! Snap some photos at our photo booth, enjoy a custom-themed cocktail that we create for each movie, and maybe even win a prize during one of our intermission activities. Sometimes we play a game, do trivia, or have a costume contest. We like to keep it fun and unpredictable!

Join us for an inspiring evening of adventure films as we kick off the Whistler Half Marathon weekend.
Presented in partnership with VIMFF and hosted by Jonas Gillespie (@jonagraphs), this curated screening will feature a selection of short films celebrating mountain culture, endurance, exploration, and connection to the outdoors. With stories spanning running, biking, mountaineering, skiing, and more, the program offers something for Whistler locals, visitors, and anyone drawn to the outdoors.
Doors open at 6:45 PM, with films beginning at 7:30 PM. Arrive early to enjoy a drink in the lobby before the screening.
