Description
Join us for an unforgettable night of mountain culture on the big screen. Two remarkable premieres will showcase the artistry, history, and spirit that define life on these two peaks.
Beyond the Image
This feature dives into how photography has shaped the identity of skiing and snowboarding, following seven Whistler-based photographers through a single season. From stormy backcountry missions to park sessions and alpine adventures, the film captures the passion, creativity, and legacy of Whistler Blackcomb. Honoring generations of iconic photographers and milestone events like the Pro Photographer Showdown, it reveals how powerful imagery continues to inspire the future of mountain culture.
此刻 : NOW
A poetic portrait of skier WeiTien Ho, 此刻 : NOW drifts beyond the boundaries of a traditional ski film. Guided by the voice of his grandmother in Mandarin, this sensory-driven piece captures not only the action but also the quiet, powerful moments in between. Forgoing conventional documentary style, it explores intuition, emotion, and the rhythms of a season through sound, texture, and connection. Best experienced loud and on the big screen, 此刻 : NOW is less about spectacle and more about feeling.
The evening also features giveaways and pre-screening conversations with the films’ directors and stars. The bar will stay open till 8:30 pm for post-screening drinks.
Proceeds from the event will be shared between Arts Whistler and the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation. The Whistler Blackcomb Foundation provides financial support to registered non-profits that benefit the Sea to Sky Corridor in the areas of health, human services, education, recreation, arts, culture, and the environment, with a focus on children, youth, and families.
