Description

Written by acclaimed Newfoundland playwright Michael Cook, Terese's Creed is a celebrated one-woman play that offers a deeply personal, moving, and often humorous portrait of life in outport Newfoundland during the early 1960s. Through the voice of Terese, audiences are welcomed into a world shaped by hard work, family, faith, community, and the everyday realities of making a life in rural Newfoundland. With warmth, wit, and remarkable honesty, she reflects on the joys and hardships she has encountered, sharing memories of the people around her and the experiences that have shaped the woman she has become.

Performed by Donna Butt, Terese's Creed brings Michael Cook's writing to life through an intimate performance that places the audience in the company of a woman with a lifetime of stories to tell. At once funny and poignant, the play offers a glimpse into a Newfoundland that was beginning to change while celebrating the spirit of the people who called it home.

This performance takes place in a secondary location, on the second floor of the Trinity Parish Hall. Due to the historic nature of that building, the theatre on the second floor is not currently an accessible space for those requiring physical accessibility accommodations. To reach the theatre, there is a flight of stairs, and there is not currently an elevator that allows access to that space. We are sorry for any inconveniences this may cause.
