Description

Welcome to 2026 Tech Talent Tuesdays: Calgary Workforce Advantage Edition

This is a free, bi-weekly gathering for professionals and companies in Calgary’s tech and innovation ecosystem.

This series supports Calgary’s tech workforce advantage by connecting employer priorities with community learning, creating a cycle where events generate insights that inform future programming.

As part of this programming, there are bi-weekly events to showcase learnings in tech, roundtables among tech companies to identify key learning areas,  and a report to share key findings.

This event is a collaboration among Calgary Economic Development, Careers in Technology and Innovation, Platform Calgary and the Government of Alberta's Labour Market Development Agreement (The Province of Alberta is working in partnership with the Government of Canada to provide employment support programs and services). As well as a collection of companies from Calgary’s Tech & Innovation Ecosystem.

July 21: The New Rules of Work: Insights from Calgary's Industry Roundtable

Across Calgary's technology ecosystem, a clear shift is taking place.

The conversation is no longer about whether organizations should adopt AI.

It is about how leaders redesign work, develop talent, and build organizations that can thrive in an AI enabled world.

Join us on July 21 for The New Rules of Work: Insights from Calgary's Industry Roundtable, a session built directly from Calgary's latest Workforce Advantage Industry Roundtable. Together, senior leaders from across the city's technology ecosystem shared how AI is changing workforce expectations, leadership, organizational design, and the future of work.

The session will begin with a debrief of the key themes and insights that emerged from the roundtable, followed by a panel discussion with two participating executives who will reflect on the conversations that resonated most, what surprised them, and what these changes mean for professionals and organizations moving forward.

Rather than focusing on AI tools or predictions, this discussion explores what employers are experiencing today as AI becomes embedded into everyday work. From changing expectations of employees to evolving leadership responsibilities, organizations are redefining what high performance looks like and the capabilities that will matter most in the years ahead.

Whether you're building your career, leading a team, or helping shape your organization's future, this session will provide practical insights grounded in conversations with the leaders navigating these changes every day.

What We'll Dig Into

  • The biggest themes and insights from Calgary's latest employer roundtable
    • Why AI proficiency is becoming a baseline expectation across organizations
    • How leaders are redesigning teams, workflows, and operating models
    • Why curiosity, adaptability, and human judgment are becoming competitive advantages
    • How organizations are balancing productivity, governance, and business outcomes
    • What these changes mean for professionals looking to remain valuable in an AI enabled workplace
