Description
This is a free, bi-weekly gathering for professionals and companies in Calgary’s tech and innovation ecosystem.
This series supports Calgary’s tech workforce advantage by connecting employer priorities with community learning, creating a cycle where events generate insights that inform future programming.
As part of this programming, there are bi-weekly events to showcase learnings in tech, roundtables among tech companies to identify key learning areas, and a report to share key findings.
This event is a collaboration among Calgary Economic Development, Careers in Technology and Innovation, Platform Calgary and the Government of Alberta's Labour Market Development Agreement (The Province of Alberta is working in partnership with the Government of Canada to provide employment support programs and services). As well as a collection of companies from Calgary’s Tech & Innovation Ecosystem.
Across Calgary’s tech ecosystem, a clear signal is emerging.
The challenge is no longer access to talent or tools.
It is how effectively people apply them.
Join us on April 14 for AI Reshaping the Workplace, a session grounded directly in insights from Calgary’s latest Industry Roundtable. This conversation reflects what employers are experiencing in real time, from shifting role expectations to hiring challenges and the growing importance of business context and judgment.
As AI becomes embedded into everyday work, organizations are not just becoming more efficient. They are rethinking how work gets done, what good performance looks like, and what they expect from the people they hire.
This session will explore what is actually changing beneath the surface, and what it means for individuals, teams, and organizations moving forward.
The future of work is not being shaped by technology alone.
It is being shaped by how people think, adapt, and apply it.
Whether you are navigating your career, leading teams, or building within a growing organization, this session will provide grounded perspective and practical insight.
• Why technical skill alone is no longer enough and what employers actually value now
• How AI is shifting work from task execution to problem solving and outcome ownership
• Why productivity is increasing, but expectations and performance standards are rising
• How hiring is becoming more difficult despite high applicant volume
• Where gaps exist in readiness, especially across junior and mid level talent
• How organizations are rethinking roles, team structures, and workflows in response
