Legacy grandstand ticket sales will start April 11, 2025 at 9:00 am and run until May 1, 2025.  These seat holders will receive further information either by email prior to April 11th.  Any seats not claimed by May 1st will be included in the general public sales.

Games Weekend Sales
Any available grandstand tickets can be purchased on Friday and Saturday of Games weekend from the Grandstand booth at the north-west corner of the Metcalfe Centre patio beside the Patrons sales area.  Sales will start at 10:00am on Friday and 8:30am on Saturday.

Aleksi grew up on stage. At five years old, he began performing alongside his mother, Canadian folk icon, Connie Kaldor. At nineteen, Aleksi moved to Paris to study under Jazz-violin legend Didier Lockwood. At twenty-one, Aleksi became the only student to have ever been accepted into the classical violin, the jazz violin and the jazz voice performance programs at McGill University. And, by twenty-five, with only a six-song EP, Aleksi graced the lineups of some of the most competitive folk festivals across Canada for three consecutive years - including the Regina, Canmore, and Bear Creek Folk Festivals.
Most recently, Aleksi received both a Canada Council Grant and a FACTOR Grant to fully fund the recording and production of his highly-anticipated 10-song debut album For the Giving, launching fall 2023. Still based out of his hometown of Montreal, Aleksi floors audiences by singing while bowing his violin and seamlessly navigating songs in English and in French. His original music blends folk songwriting with an edgy, multi-layered sound resulting from his unique combination of voice, violin, and looping-effect pedals.

Featuring a blend of acoustic instruments, rural soundscapes, and wistful vocals, Great Lake Swimmers are a critically acclaimed indie-folk group led by songwriter/vocalist Tony Dekker. Based in Toronto, Ontario, the group emerged in the early 2000s with a succession of heavily atmospheric albums recorded in old silos and rural country churches. The music developed in that pastoral warmth, performed and recorded in acoustically unique and historical locales with a revolving cast of personnel. They are renowned for their homespun folk and lush, intimate Americana in their live set.
Great Lake Swimmers celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2023 with “Uncertain Country,” an album where doubts are followed by discovery, demos end up as finished tracks, and themes of new beginnings, rear-view reflections, and ruminations on the fluidity of time form the basis of the eleven new songs.
It follows a prolonged period of collective anxiety. Recorded in different locales—and with a variety of musicians—a theme of questioning runs throughout. Even before the world turned upside down, Dekker felt mired in uncertainty: from the climate crisis to the ever-changing political landscape. The “uncertain country” chosen as the album’s theme is not a specific place. Rather, it’s a territory we, as humans, inhabit in the 21st century — a world that, more often than not, is confusing, unfamiliar and unsettling.
“Moonlight, Stay Above” epitomizes what Great Lake Swimmers represents. A 10-voice strong women’s choir (Niagara's Minuscule) lifts the lonely-sounding and wistful song up. As with that addition, the band on each album is fluid and always evolving.
Great Lake Swimmers were shortlisted for the prestigious Polaris Music Prize and nominated twice for Canada’s Juno Awards, with the CBC calling them “a national treasure.”

Matthew Barber is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter who has been touring and making records for over two decades. He has released 11 albums, garnered two Juno nominations, several Canadian Folk Music Award nominations, performed extensively across four continents and racked up plenty of radio play and millions of streams. Inspired by 60’s rock and roll, folk and soul, 70’s singer-songwriters, old-time country and blues and 90’s indie rock, Matthew has carved out his own sound in the 21st century that has matured over the years. These days Matthew is equally at home performing with his band or solo when he’s not in the studio producing music for up and coming artists. His most recent release is an EP entitled No Singing or Dancing.

Join the Kemptville Male Choir and their guests, the Ottawa Carleton Male Choir, for an evening of great music, and help raise funds for the three food banks in the Kemptville area, namely The Salvation Army, House of Lazarus, and Knights of Columbus.  This year's program will feature a significant amount of great Canadian music, including songs by Gordon Lightfoot, Ian Tyson, Allister MacGillvarey, and others.
Before COVID, the Kemptville Male Choir was known as The Ottawa Valley Male Choir and had performed together for many years.  After the COVID restrictions were lifted, they regrouped in Kemptville as the Kemptville Male Choir.  They are currently under the direction of Christine Admiral, accompanied by Abe Te Grotenhuis  They share their love of music performing at numerous local community events, retirement residences, and long term care facilities.
This year, the Ottawa Carleton Male Choir has been invited to join in as guest performers.  They are another group with a long history of performing.  In addition to performing around the Ottawa area, they have performed tours in Europe, most recently Italy and Holland.

Early Years
Uwe Kruger was born in Germany in 1961, followed by his brother Jens in 1962. The family moved to Switzerland, where music was a central part of their daily life. From an early age, the brothers played guitar and other instruments. Influenced by artists like Chet Atkins, Doc Watson, and Bill Monroe, they performed their first public show in 1973.​
Teenage Years
After their mother’s passing in 1974, they moved to Zürich and formed a skiffle band. By the age of 12, Jens was already playing banjo with various bands. In 1976, they discovered Strictly Instrumental by Flatt & Scruggs, which inspired them to focus on bluegrass. In 1979, they became traveling street musicians across Europe and later formed the band Rocky Road with the Galfano Brothers. CBS Records signed them in 1981. However, musical differences led them to split in 1982—Uwe pursued country music, while Jens moved to the U.S., where he performed with bluegrass legend Bill Monroe before returning to Switzerland.
​Reuniting
In 1987, Uwe and Jens reunited and formed Appalachian Barn Orchestra, blending bluegrass with European influences. Their music gained popularity, and in 1990, bassist Joel Landsberg joined, marking the transition to The Kruger Brothers. They hosted a live radio show on Swiss National Radio and toured extensively, performing over 250 shows per year. Their reputation grew across Europe, and they became known for their virtuosic musicianship and unique sound. By 1995, they decided to dedicate themselves entirely to The Kruger Brothers, canceling other commitments and founding their own recording studio to produce and release their music independently.
​Back in the USA
In 1997 Uwe, Jens, and Joel were invited to play at MerleFest in North Carolina. They were so well received in their festival debut, that MerleFest has invited the Kruger Brothers back to the festival every year since. Notlong after MerleFest, Kruger Brothers management organized extensive tours throughout the US beginning in the fall of 1997.
After five years of playing almost six month out of the year in the US, it was time tomake the decision to either abandon the US market or relocate the entire Kruger Brothers organization to the US.
In 2003 Uwe, Jens, and Joel moved their business and their families to North Carolina. The Kruger Brothers have since released more than twenty-five CD's on their own label.They have performed with numerous symphony orchestras, string ensembles, andguest musicians on their extensive touring schedule throughout the USA, Canada, Europe and Australia.
The Kruger Brothers are members of the Blue Ridge Music Hall of Fame, the Wilkes County Hall of Fame, the International Banjo Hall of Fame, as well as the American Folk Music Hall of Fame.Both Uwe and Jens are honorary citizens of North Carolina and Calgary,Canada.

Premières années
Uwe Kruger est né en Allemagne en 1961, suivi de son frère Jens en 1962. La famille s'installe en Suisse, où la musique fait partie intégrante de la vie quotidienne. Dès leur plus jeune âge, les frères jouent de la guitare et d'autres instruments. Influencés par des artistes comme Chet Atkins, Doc Watson et Bill Monroe, ils se produisent pour la première fois en public en 1973.
Adolescence
Après le décès de leur mère en 1974, ils déménagent à Zurich et forment un groupe de skiffle. À l'âge de 12 ans, Jens jouait déjà du banjo avec différents groupes. En 1976, ils découvrent Strictly Instrumental de Flatt & Scruggs, qui les incite à se concentrer sur le bluegrass. En 1979, ils deviennent musiciens de rue itinérants à travers l'Europe et forment plus tard le groupe Rocky Road avec les Galfano Brothers. CBS Records les signe en 1981. Cependant, des divergences musicales les ont amenés à se séparer en 1982 : Uwe s'est lancé dans la musique country, tandis que Jens est parti aux États-Unis, où il s'est produit avec la légende du bluegrass, Bill Monroe, avant de rentrer en Suisse.
Réunification
En 1987, Uwe et Jens se réunissent et forment l'Appalachian Barn Orchestra, mêlant le bluegrass à des influences européennes. Leur musique gagne en popularité et, en 1990, le bassiste Joel Landsberg les rejoint, marquant la transition vers The Kruger Brothers. Ils animent une émission de radio en direct sur la Radio nationale suisse et partent en tournée, donnant plus de 250 concerts par an. Leur réputation grandit dans toute l'Europe, et ils se font connaître pour leur virtuosité musicale et leur son unique. En 1995, ils décident de se consacrer entièrement aux Kruger Brothers, annulant d'autres engagements et fondant leur propre studio d'enregistrement pour produire et publier leur musique de manière indépendante.
Back in the USA
En 1997, Uwe, Jens et Joel ont été invités à jouer au MerleFest en Caroline du Nord. Ils ont été si bien accueillis lors de leurs débuts au festival que le MerleFest a invité les Kruger Brothers à revenir chaque année depuis. Peu de temps après le MerleFest, le management des Kruger Brothers a organisé de vastes tournées à travers les États-Unis à partir de l'automne 1997.
Après cinq années passées à jouer presque six mois par an aux États-Unis, il était temps de prendre la décision soit d'abandonner le marché américain, soit de relocaliser toute l'organisation des Kruger Brothers aux États-Unis.
En 2003, Uwe, Jens et Joel ont déménagé leur entreprise et leurs familles en Caroline du Nord. Ils se sont produits avec de nombreux orchestres symphoniques, ensembles à cordes et musiciens invités lors de leurs nombreuses tournées à travers les États-Unis, le Canada, l'Europe et l'Australie.

Once inside, visitors are immersed into a world of shifting subtle and saturated hues where they may wander, sit down, and lose themselves in sensory bliss - awakening the senses.
Arborialis has the natural world for inspiration and is designed to echo aspects of being lost in a forest – there are radiant canopies of leaves that stretch overhead, there are vibrant tree trunks rising from the ground beneath.
The visual world of Arborialis is enhanced by the natural and spiritual sounds of the Song of Danu created by Irish composer Dr Michael Morris.

Les rues et les parcs de toutes les villes ont des bancs qui invitent les passants à s’y asseoir et à partager leurs histoires.
Une femme s’assoit sur un banc pour y trouver paix et quiétude, mais rencontre des passants qui ont d’autres plans. Avec des marionnettes superbement détaillées, la pièce loue la simplicité de la vie quotidienne.
Cette histoire touchante et drôle raconte une journée ordinaire dans la vie d’un banc. Un banc, c’est si banal, et pourtant c’est très magique! On en voit partout dans les villes, les parcs et les jardins. Ce sont de véritables invitations. Parfois, les visiteurs d’un banc ne font que se frôler, parfois leur rencontre évolue.
Une femme âgée fait tout ce qu’elle peut pour éloigner la vie, du moins de son banc. Mais son environnement mouvementé la prend par surprise. Si seulement les autres pouvaient la laisser être vieille et grognonne seule! Un garçon passe sur une planche à roulettes, un chien renifle en trottant à toute vitesse, les oiseaux gazouillent et un amical vieil homme veut lire son journal. Tout cela lui tombe sur les nerfs!

A Show With Strings

 * Please note that this is NOT an all ages show, as some material may be inappropriate for young listeners.
This show will consist of two 50 minute sets with 30 minute intermission / meet & greet. Both sets will feature three stories, each ending with a rendition of that artists music by Jesse Greene.  
Richard Flohil has spent the last 60 years in the Canadian music business as a writer, concert promoter, band manager (and road manager), publicist, venue booker, folk and blues festival artistic director, and television talent coordinator. He goes to hear live music in clubs and at concerts regularly — he was at 126 music events last year. 
The only thing he’s not done is sing, play and instrument, or dance; he leaves that to people with superb musical talent, like Jesse Greene 
 Neither has he produced a record, though he’s sat in at almost two dozen recording sessions. As a concert promoter, he’s presented artists as diverse as B.B. King, Stompin’ Tom, Solomon Burke, Miles Davis, Rambling Jack Elliott, Muddy Waters, Benny Goodman, Ray Charles, The Chieftains, Leon Redbone, Mary Gauthier and dozens more. 
As a speaker, he has keynoted music conferences at several folk and blues conventions. 
As a publicist, helping artists become better known, his clients have included the Downchild Blues Band, Loreena McKennitt, k.d. lang, the Mariposa Folk Festival, Serena Ryder, Shakura S’Aida, Nana Mouskouri and many, many others. He has also worked with comedians Billy Connolly and Eric Idle and “stars” such as David Crosby, Alice Cooper and Beatles producer George Martin. 
For two years, he’s been writing pieces about all these people — and many others — on Substack, an online platform that allows writers to upload their article so subscribers can read them. He has more than 1,000 readers; his column is called “Stories From the Edge of Music." 
Because he can’t play music, the gods gave him the gift of talking about music. His stories are (he hopes) entertaining, informative, funny and even inspiring.

Where the Wild Things Are


Waking up at ungodly hours would kick the shit out of most of us. But if you’re Leeroy Stagger, you breathe. You pick up a guitar. And you greet the coming dawn with words, music, and grace.
“Most of these songs were composed in the wee hours of a new day. The witching hours, you could call them. Where my mind is active and there’s a peace and spirit I embrace in the quiet of life.”
That liminal space is exactly what Stagger would call his 3 AM Revelations—and there could be no better title for his 13th full recording. For it’s in that sacred and moonlit window that brought forth his strongest, most passionate songwriting to date.
In these musical revelations—recorded in Stagger’s new Victoria home studio made of “beautiful rough-cut wood”—we hear gratitude, struggle, rebel rousing, balladry, compassion, and humour. We go to worlds as small as the back of lousy Dodge Dart, and worlds as vast as the Alberta Skies and as ethereal as human connection.
“This is a record of the human spirit. Of suffering and joy. Of heroes and everyday stories. And of addiction and redemption.”
Similar to like-minded songwriters as Jason Isbell and Steve Earle, Leeroy Stagger uses his long-term sobriety for muse, muscle, and music. Take the recovery song “These Days”, which still yearns for a greater meaning, even after 16 years of sobriety.
“The song is a reminder to myself to find the humanity in my interactions. To meet my fears with more love. That I have to work very hard to transcend that world that lives inside of me.”
Stagger easily shifts to raucous singalong songs that stick in your head like chewing gum. Tunes like “Count To Ten” ( a collaboration with Dennis Ellsworth), “Mediocrity Pill” (co-written with Jay Malinowski), and “Watermelon Pink” were born out of one manager’s challenge to deliver hooky-as-hell rockers to compliment his more contemplative tunes.
“She wanted more “bangers”. And so I banged on. I’m always one to prove someone wrong, so I rolled up my sleeves, and wrote those songs, which was a cathartic, cosmic blast.”
3 AM Revelations is the result of what Stagger calls his “third attempt” at making this record, meaning his listeners can look forward to two more collections in the can. And if 3 AM is three times the charm, as well as the bewitching hour in which to write beautiful music, Leeroy Stagger has tapped into something remarkably moving.
“That’s what I wanted this record to feel like—like riding a wave. And hold on, because we don’t know what’s coming next. It’s a chance to climb up the mountain and have a look around to decide if we like what we see. In the end, we hang on tight or loosen our grip a little. Either way, it’s gonna be OK.”

Jason Mercer and I have spent the last year dancing around the idea of how we might play some music together. Jason is one of my favourite players on the planet. I first knew him as a bassist, but he’ll be bringing his banjo to this project as well... In recent times, Jason had all but put down the electric bass, so we knew this wasn’t going to be a rock/guitar endeavour...
After a booking at The St. Alban’s Hall in Adolphustown, Ontario was followed by an interesting request to make the show all-acoustic, Stephen Stanley & NoElectric was born. It was a no-brainer that my closest collaborator for the past 15 years, Chris Bennett, would join in on 6 and 12 string guitars...
I then felt we needed one more person to bring this all-acoustic band together. Over a decade ago, one of the jewels of the Toronto music scene was a bar in the Junction called The Troubadour. It was there that I first met Michael O’Grady - and not long after he became the focus of the third verse of a song I wrote called “The Troubadour’s Song” Michael is a brilliant live performer and brings both the accordion and the tin whistle to the NoElectric fold...
And everyone sings...! Add in me on acoustic guitar and NoElectric lives!
The music will be a walk through my entire catalogue from the early days right up to the present including songs from Lowest of the Low, Too Many Sisters and The Stephen Stanley Band, along with some new ones that have yet to be heard.
For this tour we’ll be joined by our special guest Piner, namely their lead singer and guitarist, Claya Way Brackenbury. Claya will kick off every night of this tour with her beautiful socially conscious music and as a bonus, she’ll join NoElectric for a few songs. We honestly can’t wait. See you soon Ontario!

From harmonica to baritone guitar, from frontman to producer, Steve Marriner has spent over two decades shaping the sound of modern blues. With two JUNO Awards for his work with MonkeyJunk, a career spent touring with Colin James, and guest appearances with bona fide blues legends Buddy Guy and Jimmie Vaughan, Marriner has become one of Canada’s most versatile and respected musicians. 
Marriner’s approach to blending blues, rock, and roots music has made him a sought-after collaborator and a formidable solo artist. His previous album, Hope Dies Last, earned a 2022 JUNO nomination, and his production work on Big Dave McLean’s This Old Life won  him yet another award at the 2025 JUNOs. With Hear My Heart, his upcoming full-length album, Marriner continues to push boundaries, proving that the blues isn’t just tradition—it’s alive, electric, and constantly evolving.

Harry Manx has spent years fusing eastern musical traditions with the blues, switching effortlessly between conventional guitars, harmonica, and banjo and the decidedly different Mohan veena, a 20-stringed instrument invented by Manx’ Indian mentor Vishwa Mohan Bhatt. Manx is often referred to as the “Mysticssippi” Blues Man, because of his expertise in melding both East and West music together and therefore, “creating musical short stories that wed the Blues with the depth of classical Indian ragas”.
Over the last 10 years, Harry Manx released 11 Albums and has garnered a room full of awards including, “seven Maple Blues Awards, six Juno nominations, the Canadian Folk Award in 2005 for Best Solo Artist and won CBC Radio’s “Great Canadian Blues Award” in 2007″. His most recent accomplishment was receiving yet another Juno Nomination for “Blues Album of the Year”, for his release, “Bread and Buddha” in 2010.
 
 

Harry Manx


Lynn Miles is an award winning singer-songwriter, record producer, teacher, writer, public speaker. 
She’s also pretty funny, a 3 minute standup routine is at the top of her bucket list. Lynn has 16 albums to her credit. She won a Juno award (Canadian Grammy)in 2003 for Roots Traditional Album of the year, and went on to be nominated in the same categories in 2011 and 2006. She is also the recipient of 6 Canadian Folk Music Awards including 3 for songwriter of the year. Her 2 most recent awards we given to her duo THE LYNNeS for songwriters of the year, and ensemble of the year at the 2018 Canadian Folk Music Awards. In 2016, Americana artist Clair Lynch recorded Lynn’s song “Black Flowers” on her Grammy nominated album “North By South”.Lynn estimates she’s written about 900 songs, she’s never done an official count. She has produced 5 albums for other artists.
Her most recent album “tumbleweedyworld” was nominated for album of the year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards, and her previous album (#15) “We'll Look For Stars ”was # 1 on the Euro/americana chart for the month of August 2020
Lynn tours as a solo artist, also with her stellar guitar player Keith Glass, and with her folk/rock band, and style of music she calls FROCK. Since the release of “tumbleweedyworld” she also plays with a stellar bluegrass band, THE TUMBLEWEEDS. Lynn  has performed her music with arrangements by Grammy nominee Peter Keisewalter with the National Arts Centre Orchestra.
Lynn created a “Winter/Christmas” show that she has performed for the last seven years. There is a CD of the live recording “Winter” complete with strings, which she wrote the arrangements for. In the first five years of the show, she has raised over $10,000.00 for local charities with her “ugly sweater” raffles. Her mom Irene designed the sweaters to be "as hideous as possible".Her song “What If You Were a Refugee” is available on iTunes and all proceeds of downloads go to agencies that help refugees. 
If there's a first nation land acknowledgment at the venue Lynn is playing, she will donate a small percentage of her earnings  from that concert, to a chosen organization that supports first nation initiatives.She gave a presentation on Musicians and Mental Health at the 2019 Folk Alliance International conference and her writing has appeared in issues of Penguin Eggs Magazine.
