The tournament tips off with Opening Ceremonies, a special celebration recognizing all participating teams and featuring inspiring guest speakers. The excitement builds throughout the week and culminates in Championship Friday, showcasing the marquee matchups and crowning the tournament’s top teams.

Ensure your spot in the stands for the best in Canadian collegiate basketball! Vancouver Island University is set to welcome teams from across Canada to the West Coast for the 2026 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Basketball National Championship--presented by TD.
All games will take place at the VIU Gymnasium (Building 190) at Vancouver Island University's main campus: 900 Fifth Street in Nanaimo, British Columbia.
Tournament Schedule

Wednesday, March 18: four quarterfinals
Thursday, March 19: two bronze quarterfinals and two semifinals
Friday, March 20: 7th place game and two bronze semifinals
Saturday, March 21: bronze and gold games

All seating is general admission. Teams and matchups will be determined in early March 2026. As hosts, the VIU Mariners automatically qualify for the tournament.

Intersection is an event that pushes crews of artistic snow sports visionaries to their limits as they aim to create a masterpiece that truly captures the beauty of ski and snowboard culture.
Invited crews and one Wild Card selection, will have a 12-day window to shoot, edit, and submit a five to seven-minute winter action sports film.  The show takes place April 8th at the Whistler Conference Centre where each film will be judged live, by a panel of industry experts and the audience!Our charitable partner for Intersection is Whistler Adaptive Sports Program. He has been dipping his toes into the production world lately with two releases out to date and more on the way.

The People’s Film is cranking the thermostat, dusting off the spandex, and cannonballing straight into the hot tub of destiny.
That’s right- on March 25 we’re diving into the unhinged chaos of Hot Tub Time Machine, where four underachieving friends take a nostalgic ski trip and wake up in 1986 with big hair, bigger egos, and the chance to rewrite their most humiliating moments. Starring John Cusack, Craig Robinson, Rob Corddry, and Clark Duke, it’s a neon-soaked, synth-blasting ride through ski slopes, second chances, and spectacularly bad choices.
To help you handle the high altitude and the low-brow humour, we’re serving up the "Tub Time Tonic"- Gin, pineapple juice, lime, simple syrup and tonic (may trigger unexpected time travel or convince you that neon clothing is cool again!)The themed cocktail is available exclusively by pre-order when purchasing tickets online.
About the People's Film 
People’s Film nights aren’t just movie screenings. They’re full-on events. Showing up in costume is always encouraged (but definitely not required)! Snap some photos at our photo booth, enjoy a custom-themed cocktail that we create for each movie, and maybe even win a prize during one of our intermission activities. Sometimes we play a game, do trivia, or have a costume contest. We like to keep it fun and unpredictable!

Elefante, originally from Mexico City, is a renowned Spanish-language pop and rock band that has captivated audiences since their formation in 1994. Founded by vocalist and songwriter Rafael López and his brother, keyboardist and bassist Iván López, the group is known for its emotional, melodic lyrics and its ability to fuse diverse musical genres.
With iconic hits such as “Durmiendo con la Luna” and “Así Es la Vida”, Elefante has left an indelible mark on the Mexican music scene, playing a key role in the resurgence of pop rock during the 1990s.
Over the years, the band has continued to evolve its sound, incorporating elements of Latin music, pop, and romantic ballads. Their commitment to artistic excellence and their deep connection with audiences have established Elefante as one of the most beloved and enduring bands in Mexico and Latin America.
