Tunes, Talks and Treats

The VOC huts are maintained by volunteer (student) members and can only exist with the help of donations from its users. Over 2024 and 2025, our club performed three renovations on two of our huts, involving thousands of volunteer labour-hours and a cost exceeding $100 000. If you are using the hut, please pay the 15 dollars fee so we can keep maintaining our huts for generations to come! 
You could pay online on this site before or after your stay or put it in the blue lock box inside the hut. This money is exclusively for goods to maintain the huts and their trails. All of the hard labor is done by volunteers. 
Paying for the hut in advance does not in any way reserve a spot in the hut, so remember- There is always room for one more!

Membership Options

If you are interested in the Research EXperience Program (REX), please purchase the $10 membership.
If you are not planning to apply for REX, you may purchase the $5 membership.

As per AMS bylaws, memberships must be purchased annually and are non-refundable.
How to Receive Your URO Number
After purchasing your membership, please complete the URO Membership Qualtrics Survey as soon as possible. The survey should take approximately 2–3 minutes to complete.
When completing the survey:

Enter the same email address you used when purchasing your membership through Showpass. You will not receive your URO number if the email addresses do not match.
Enter your Showpass invoice id as confirmation of payment

Your invoice id can be found in the confirmation email in the Receipt pdf

Once you have completed the survey, you can expect to receive your URO number within 24–48 hours. We will do our best to send it as soon as possible. Please keep your URO number in a secure place, as you will need it to access all URO membership-based programs and events.
If you do not receive your URO number within 48 hours, or if you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at uro.ubc@gmail.com. You can also talk to us at Clubs Day.
Important Information About REX
Getting a URO membership+REX ($10) does not guarantee that you will become a REX mentee. REX is a competitive program, and all prospective REX mentees must apply through the REX application form. If accepted, you will be matched with a mentor to participate in the program.
