The Fergus Scottish Festival & Highland Games is an annual three-day event that celebrates local Scottish heritage and features world class competitions, talent and entertainment in the beautiful town of Fergus, Ontario. The Festival will take place August 7 - 9, 2026

A Weekend Pass is good for the whole weekend - Friday through Sunday. You do not need separate passes for the Tattoo if you buy a weekend pass

Children 12 and under are admitted for free when accompanied by an adult

Jurassic Kingdom is a must-see family edutainment attraction — an exciting and educational Jurassic walk-through experience designed for visitors of all ages.
Featuring over 50 impressive life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, the event brings the prehistoric world to life. Each dinosaur includes robotic moving parts such as moving heads, breathing bodies, swaying arms and tails, blinking eyes and jaws that open wide with realistic roaring sound effects — creating a truly immersive walk-through adventure.
This visually spectacular experience is as educational as it is entertaining, making it the perfect day out for children and adults alike. Follow the winding trail through grasslands and woodland paths where snarling, roaring, and hissing dinosaurs await around every corner.

Headliner:
Laurie Elliott is a stand-up comic, actor and television writer. She is a winner of the Tim Sims Encouragement Fund Award and is a four-time winner of Best Female Stand Up at The Canadian Comedy Awards. Her stand-up credits include the Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival (where she was chosen by the late, great Joan Rivers to perform on her final Gala show), the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, the Comedy Factory in Rotterdam, Raw Comedy Club in Stockholm, the SheDot Comedy Festival in Toronto, and a gala run at the Cape Town International Comedy Festival in South Africa. She has had recurring roles/appearances on MuchMusic’s Video on Trial, CBC’s The Red Green Show (she married Harold!), The Jon Dore Television Show, Match Game and The Debaters. Laurie’s voice can be heard on many animated series such as Total Drama Island, Scaredy Squirrel, and Camp Lakebottom. Laurie was also a regular on WWF star Chris Jericho’s award winning web series, But I’m Chris Jericho. Writing credits include five seasons of the Total Drama Series, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Rocket Monkeys, Camp Lakebottom, Fugget About It, Showcase’s Almost Heroes, Disney’s My Babysitter’s a Vampire, Hulu’s original series Mother Up starring Eva Longoria. Laurie is currently co-show running a series for YTV called, The Three Amigonauts. Laurie recently opened for the hilarious Arsenio Hall and he was a delight!Feature:  
George Rivard was adopted from Sierra Leone by Canadian parents and was raised in the Yukon in a community of 30,000 people. Facing adversity as a young black child in a small community, comedy, and entertainment became his main calling. Whether it be breakdancing, music, acting, cooking, entertaining, or just making his friends laugh, George has been performing for 13 years, finding his stride within the last 10 years in Toronto. George has recently recorded with Just for Laughs originals, and Underground Comedy Railroad for Comedy Records. He is a regular comic at Comedy Bar, Corner Comedy Club, and Absolute Comedy Club. George is also no stranger to appearing in Indie  films and sketch comedy projects. Relatable, outgoing, and unapologetically Canadian! 
Feature: 
Liam Andres has been performing as a host and stand-up comedian in Toronto for the past seven years.  He has performed across Canada and throughout the Greater Toronto Area at notable venues including Yuk Yuk’s, Comedy Bar, Corner Comedy Club, Massey Hall, and the Royal Cinema. Liam has hosted and performed at comedy clubs, theatres, and private corporate events. His comedy is rooted in autobiographical storytelling, blending personal experiences with absurdist observations and a unique perspective on everyday life.

York Street Thought Process is a charming folk duo made up of Jaron Camp & Rachael Frankruyter. The duo has captured the hearts of audiences across Canada with their playful approach to folk music, blending strong storytelling with improvisation.
A year after the release of their debut album 'Roots', the duo ventured off to the East Coast of Canada to record new music in 2023. This resulted in their sophomore album 'Colder'. Described as "incredibly well crafted with beautiful harmonies and intricate instrumentation" (CBC, 2024), 'Colder' gained recognition from Exclaim!, CBC, Stingray, and charted on CHRW, securing the #2 spot at its highest. The duo celebrated their release with a Southern Ontario release tour in 2024 alongside Wild Bloom. In 2025, the duo released their single 'Dignity' and performed across Canada, including the highly esteemed Mariposa Folk Festival (Emerging Artists) and Winnipeg Folk Festival (Young Performer's Program). This year, York Street Thought Process is releasing their third album that displays a beautiful simplicity and intricacy of their signature duo sound that audiences have witnessed in their live performance; a stripped down, focused and refined approach to their distinctive style.

Join Saulteaux/Métis educator and memory activist Sam Howden and settler scholar and artist Andrew Lochhead on a guided walk, bringing the idea of Land Acknowledgements out of the Bata Shoe Museum’s walls and onto the Land itself, in the area currently known as The Annex.
Land acknowledgements can be powerful. At their best, they affirm belonging, recognize ongoing injustices, and help build meaningful relationships between people and the more-than-human world around us. But as these practices become more institutionalized, they can risk feeling routine—words spoken without deeper action toward Indigenous sovereignty or true settler–Indigenous conciliation.
Together, we’ll follow the paths of buried streams, discover native plant species and traditional medicines, observe urban wildlife, and explore layers of local history and architecture. Along the way, we’ll reflect on walking as a form of witnessing—and consider the social and political complexities of moving through treaty Land, especially when the treaties that govern it have so often been broken.
This is an invitation to slow down, listen closely, and think differently about our relationship to the Land beneath our feet.
The walk will take up to two hours. Please wear comfortable shoes. Walks recommended for 16+.
About the Facilitator / Artist / Curator / Speaker
Sam Howden, MSW, BSW, RSW (they/them) is an Indigenous social worker and educator. 
Their scholarly work focuses on autoethnographic approaches to storytelling in the context of student memory activism at what is now called Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). Specifically their thesis project focussed on efforts to address the commemoration of Egerton Ryerson, that would lead to the removal of the Ryerson statue on campus, and the subsequent decision to rename the university. Sam’s practice in both academics and social work is guided by a deep connection to Land, and principles of humility, service, and relational accountability informed by their experiences as a traditional helper in lodge and ceremony. 
Sam is of mixed European and Indigenous ancestry. Their relations on their father’s side are Red River Métis (Soto/Saulteaux), belonging to the family names Gladu and Dease. Their father also has mixed European ancestry from the British Isles (Howden) and Eastern Europe (Olynick/Bileski). Their mother was adopted and raised in a French Canadian family, and later found that their biological parents belonged to Dutch (Borsboom), French, and English (Henri) ancestry. 
Sam currently works as a contract lecturer at TMU in the Department of Social Work, and maintains a private therapy practice.
Andrew Lochhead, is an artist and scholar who uses walking as a form of creative practice and research to bring to life stories about the city in ways that orient audiences toward imagining justice-based futures. A lifelong museum and gallery professional, Andrew has been an outspoken advocate for understanding how monuments, place names, and other forms of commemoration shape people’s relationships to places and to each other. His work as part of the public history campaign around the name of Dundas Street has contributed to significant changes to Toronto’s toponymic landscape, the development of new commemorative policy, and ongoing conversations about who or what Canada’s largest city remembers. Andrew’s research and activism has been featured in a number of documentary films and programs, including the BAFTA Award winning Scotland, Slavery, and Statues. His PhD dissertation explores the role of walking in interpreting urban heritage landscapes.

Drawing from 21 years of living with multiple sclerosis, Fekko brings her signature dark, playful, and deeply honest performance style to a 60-minute solo show that seamlessly interweaves tragedy and hilarity. This much-anticipated follow-up to her 5-star hit Multiple Neurosis is an action-packed, vulnerable ride through breakups, love bombs, pregnancy, family estrangement, and bad credit. Ultimately, Fekko invites audiences into a raw, humorous fight for independence, asking a vital question: What does freedom look like when you have a disability?
