Fleetwood X, the amazing tribute band to Fleetwood Mac, is coming back to The Texan in Athens on Saturday, April 11th! Doors will open at 6:00pm, and the concert begins at 7pm and will feature your favorite songs!

The premier traveling dueling pianos show, The Eighty Eights, is coming from Dallas to perform in Athens for their 6th time at The Texan on Saturday, May 16th! Doors and Bar open at 6:00pm, and the show starts at 7:00pm. The show includes two entertainers on two pianos performing live popular songs from the classic 1950s to today’s hits! Interacting with the audience, they encourage singalongs, dancing, and participation. This is a one-of-a-kind traveling dueling piano show!
Under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. On the venue map, available tickets/seats are displayed in color. Seats already purchased are in gray and unavailable.
 

Dueling Pianos: The Eighty Eights

Ricki Derek & The Vegas Six are coming to perform at The Texan in Athens on Saturday, May 9th! Greatly influenced by Sinatra, Dino, Tony Bennett, Mel Torme, Tom Jones, Bobby Darin, & Sammy Davis, Jr., to name a few, Ricki has made it his mission in life to channel the greats of past and present with his own style. The doors and the bar will open at 6:00pm, and the concert begins at 7pm.

The Wichita Theatre

Program Overview
This immersive 8-week, hands-on filmmaking course is designed for anyone eager to tell stories through film, whether you’re brand new to the craft or a self-taught creator ready to sharpen your skills.
Students will experience the full script-to-screen journey, from developing an original idea to screening a completed short film before a live audience. Along the way, you’ll gain practical training in storytelling, collaboration, and technical production; the essential building blocks for any filmmaker.
Students will work in crew-style teams to produce a short narrative film. Guest filmmakers, industry professionals, and working artists will provide insight, mentorship, and feedback throughout the process, helping you refine your skills and find your creative voice.

 Unleash your creativity and curiosity in our Introductory Taxidermy Class! Designed for beginners, this hands-on course offers a fascinating glimpse into the art and science of taxidermy.
Class begins promptly at 10am and ends at 4pm.
We provide each student with either a skinned, cleaned, and tanned racoon, opossum, or rat hide depending on the workshop you are taking.
The first half of class is focused on preparing your form, setting the eyes, test fitting and mounting the hide, as well as grooming.

Hunter Hicks, whose small‑town roots and musical family shaped his love for honest, guitar‑driven storytelling. Picking up the guitar at 17, he began writing songs about heartbreak, hometown life, and the rugged beauty of Texas, blending southern rock energy with the emotional grit of classic country. Influenced by artists like Gary Stewart, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Eric Church, Parker McCollum, Matchbox Twenty, and Koe Wetzel, Hunter’s raw vocals and sincere lyrics reflect a new generation of country artists who honor tradition while boldly crossing into rock and Americana.
West Bound Hearts are a rising Texas country‑rock band known for their high‑energy live shows, heartfelt songwriting, and modern take on the troubadour spirit. With singles like “Illusions of Love,” “Small Town Saturday Night,” and their upcoming Trent Willmon–produced release “Texas Does,” the band is quickly carving out a place in the Texas music scene. They’ve shared stages with Gary P.
