Featuring a blend of acoustic instruments, rural soundscapes, and wistful vocals, Great Lake Swimmers are a critically acclaimed indie-folk group led by songwriter/vocalist Tony Dekker. Based in Toronto, Ontario, the group emerged in the early 2000s with a succession of heavily atmospheric albums recorded in old silos and rural country churches. The music developed in that pastoral warmth, performed and recorded in acoustically unique and historical locales with a revolving cast of personnel. They are renowned for their homespun folk and lush, intimate Americana in their live set.
Great Lake Swimmers celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2023 with “Uncertain Country,” an album where doubts are followed by discovery, demos end up as finished tracks, and themes of new beginnings, rear-view reflections, and ruminations on the fluidity of time form the basis of the eleven new songs.
It follows a prolonged period of collective anxiety. Recorded in different locales—and with a variety of musicians—a theme of questioning runs throughout. Even before the world turned upside down, Dekker felt mired in uncertainty: from the climate crisis to the ever-changing political landscape. The “uncertain country” chosen as the album’s theme is not a specific place. Rather, it’s a territory we, as humans, inhabit in the 21st century — a world that, more often than not, is confusing, unfamiliar and unsettling.
“Moonlight, Stay Above” epitomizes what Great Lake Swimmers represents. A 10-voice strong women’s choir (Niagara's Minuscule) lifts the lonely-sounding and wistful song up. As with that addition, the band on each album is fluid and always evolving.
Great Lake Swimmers were shortlisted for the prestigious Polaris Music Prize and nominated twice for Canada’s Juno Awards, with the CBC calling them “a national treasure.”

The Fugitives are an acoustic folk-roots group headed by songwriters Adrian Glynn and Brendan McLeod. Over their first five albums, they’ve amassed a JUNO nomination, 6 CFMA nominations, and toured extensively through Canada, Europe, and the UK.
Performance highlights include major Canadian folk festivals, a Glastonbury performance, and a tour supporting  Buffy Sainte-Marie. In 2020, the band created RIDGE, a WW1-centered theatre show. Ridge has been performed at theatres across Canada and was named a Globe & Mail Top Arts Pick of the Year.
The band has earned a reputation for unforgettable live shows, brimming with complex harmonies, infectious storytelling, and top-notch musicianship.

Matthew Barber is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter who has been touring and making records for over two decades. He has released 11 albums, garnered two Juno nominations, several Canadian Folk Music Award nominations, performed extensively across four continents and racked up plenty of radio play and millions of streams. Inspired by 60’s rock and roll, folk and soul, 70’s singer-songwriters, old-time country and blues and 90’s indie rock, Matthew has carved out his own sound in the 21st century that has matured over the years. These days Matthew is equally at home performing with his band or solo when he’s not in the studio producing music for up and coming artists. His most recent release is an EP entitled No Singing or Dancing.

Ball and Chain & The Wreckers are an Ottawa based band with Michael Ball and Jody Benjamin as the shackles holding this group together. Michael and Jody have been making frequent trips to Louisiana since 1997 and the music from Southwest Louisiana and its cultural context continues to fascinate them.
They play a mixture of original and cover tunes leaning towards the earlier country that still sounded like country. Some of their favourites are Hank Williams, George Jones, Roger Miller and Webb Pierce.

Aleksi grew up on stage. At five years old, he began performing alongside his mother, Canadian folk icon, Connie Kaldor. At nineteen, Aleksi moved to Paris to study under Jazz-violin legend Didier Lockwood. At twenty-one, Aleksi became the only student to have ever been accepted into the classical violin, the jazz violin and the jazz voice performance programs at McGill University. And, by twenty-five, with only a six-song EP, Aleksi graced the lineups of some of the most competitive folk festivals across Canada for three consecutive years - including the Regina, Canmore, and Bear Creek Folk Festivals.
Most recently, Aleksi received both a Canada Council Grant and a FACTOR Grant to fully fund the recording and production of his highly-anticipated 10-song debut album For the Giving, launching fall 2023. Still based out of his hometown of Montreal, Aleksi floors audiences by singing while bowing his violin and seamlessly navigating songs in English and in French. His original music blends folk songwriting with an edgy, multi-layered sound resulting from his unique combination of voice, violin, and looping-effect pedals.

Aleksi a grandi sur scène. À l'âge de cinq ans, il commence à se produire aux côtés de sa mère, Connie Kaldor, icône du folklore canadien. À dix-neuf ans, Aleksi s'installe à Paris pour étudier avec la légende du violon jazz Didier Lockwood. With fourteen albums to his credit, Dave Gunning’s remarkable body of work marks him as a true luminary in the Canadian folk music scene. Dave’s musical roots took hold in his teenage years, deeply inspired by legends like Stan Rogers and Gordon Lightfoot. Straight from our “hotel cousin” The Hotel on Wolfe Island, a super chill and ever-changing evening that plays like an after-hours club in NYC (but better, because We Are Canadian). The guys draw from each of their vast original repertoires, jazz standards, classic country, and everything in between! 
Celebrated guitarist, mandolinist, songwriter Joey Wright has toured and recorded with legions of artists including Sarah Harmer, Amy Millan, David Corley, and his own trio. A principal proponent of Canadian bluegrass, old time and traditional country, Joey is also a genre-stretching player of grace and wit. Hugh Christopher Brown has produced hundreds of albums, including 20+ of his own works: solo, alongside Kate Fenner, and innumerable ensembles. Jason Mercer, multi-instrumentalist and producer, has worked with Ani Difranco, Ron Sexsmith, Barenaked Ladies, and many more, including playing in the Bourbon Tabernacle Choir with Chris and Kate starting when they were teens. The three of them will be drawing from their own catalogues while declaring “open season” on anything musical.

The Tartan Ball has become a traditional favourite with 200+ attendees dressed in their kilts and Scottish finery, ready to enjoy a fine meal and the best of Scottish entertainment.
The evening begins with a Social Hour at 6:00 pm, with dinner at 7:00 pm followed by entertainment with the Glengarry Pipe Band and the MacCulloch Dancers. The evening dance commences around 9:15 pm.

Leeroy Stagger (Now in his early 40’s) is a beloved, award-winning Canadian Singer-Songwriter, Producer and Master Storyteller. Stylistically his music moves between Folk, Roots and Rocknroll. He is Inspired as much from John Prine or Nick Drake as he is Tom Petty or Joe Strummer. For the past twenty years, he has been touring North America and Europe, making records and gaining a strong but more importantly, dedicated following. His music is written from a lens of a spiritual path through addiction and recovery; he cuts a trail through the human condition in only a way that a veteran observational traveller and artist can.
Leeroy was signed to the infamous Canadian Label True North Records (Bruce Cockburn, Blackie and The Rodeo Kings) as well as industry mogul Danny Goldberg’s (Nirvana, Steve Earle, The Cranberries) Gold Lake Records.
He has supported and toured with and with Steve Earle, Josh Ritter, Buffy Sainte Marie, Frazey Ford, The Pixies, Modest Mouse, The Drive-By Truckers, Jason Isbell and more. He is just as at home in a cafe with an audience of 50 as he is on a festival stage with and audience of 10,000.
These days Leeroy is raising kids and producing records in his studio, Neighbourhood Recorders. He is also the host of the weekly Dirty Windshields Radio hour on world famous CKUA radio.

Architects of Air Arborialis luminarium is an encounter with the phenomenon of light. An encounter that is beautiful in its simplicity, which can nevertheless be profound in its effect. Once inside, visitors are immersed into a world of shifting subtle and saturated hues where they may wander, sit down, and lose themselves in sensory bliss - awakening the senses.
Arborialis has the natural world for inspiration and is designed to echo aspects of being lost in a forest – there are radiant canopies of leaves that stretch overhead, there are vibrant tree trunks rising from the ground beneath.
The visual world of Arborialis is enhanced by the natural and spiritual sounds of the Song of Danu created by Irish composer Dr Michael Morris.

Declared “the coolest rock star in the world right now,” by UNCUT magazine, Arooj Aftab has earned her position at the vanguard of creative music for her embrace of risk and nonconformity. In 2024, she released her fourth solo album, Night Reign (Verve), to universal acclaim, earning a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Jazz Album, while the song “Raat Ki Rani” was tabbed for Best Global Music Performance.The album expands on the musical universe Aftab has created over the years. Night Reign features an all-star cast of musicians (Cautious Clay, Vijay Iyer, Elvis Costello, James Franceis, Moor Mother, Joel Ross), united beneath the steady, brilliant hand of the queen of the night. As put by the Wall Street Journal, “[Night Reign’s] beauty is self-evident, and it stands on its own” which helps explain its inclusion across so many Best of 2024 album lists.Night Reign’s predecessor, Vulture Prince, ushered Aftab into the cultural zeitgeist, including a place on President Barack Obama’s Summer 2021 playlist. Recognition for the record propelled her to a Best New Artist Grammy nomination in 2022 and a win for the song “Mohabbat.” The following year she collaborated with Vijay Iyer and Shahzad Ismaily on a “masterclass in space,” the improvisational Love in Exile (Verve 2023), also Grammy nominated and winner of a 2023 Edison Jazz award.Aftab spent her adolescent years in Lahore, Pakistan, the birthplace of her music-loving parents. Les rues et les parcs de toutes les villes ont des bancs qui invitent les passants à s’y asseoir et à partager leurs histoires.
Une femme s’assoit sur un banc pour y trouver paix et quiétude, mais rencontre des passants qui ont d’autres plans. Avec des marionnettes superbement détaillées, la pièce loue la simplicité de la vie quotidienne.
Cette histoire touchante et drôle raconte une journée ordinaire dans la vie d’un banc. Un banc, c’est si banal, et pourtant c’est très magique! On en voit partout dans les villes, les parcs et les jardins. Ce sont de véritables invitations. Parfois, les visiteurs d’un banc ne font que se frôler, parfois leur rencontre évolue.
Une femme âgée fait tout ce qu’elle peut pour éloigner la vie, du moins de son banc. Mais son environnement mouvementé la prend par surprise. Si seulement les autres pouvaient la laisser être vieille et grognonne seule! Un garçon passe sur une planche à roulettes, un chien renifle en trottant à toute vitesse, les oiseaux gazouillent et un amical vieil homme veut lire son journal. Tout cela lui tombe sur les nerfs!

A Show with Strings invites children–big and small–to join the adventure, encouraging them to explore their imagination and creativity.
From Seoul, South Korea, A Show With Strings has been taking the world by storm, inspiring audiences young and old across the world.Become a super spy saving the world…Enjoy a romantic evening at the Eiffel Tower…Pilot a rocket ship to outer space…You can do all this and more with a single piece of string.
A Show With Strings is a delightful puppet show that explores all the different things a string can do. In this playful interactive puppet show, create different worlds using only string. This clever puppet show encourages imagination, creativity and out-of-the-box thinking in all ages.
This puppet show is that it is designed for all ages to enjoy, no matter if you are a kid or a grandparent! 
 
*Infants 9 months and younger are admitted for free but must sit on a guardian's lap.

Depuis Séoul, en Corée du Sud, A Show With Strings prend le monde d’assaut et inspire les spectateurs, jeunes et vieux, du monde entier.Devenez un super agent qui sauve la planète…Profitez d’une soirée romantique à la tour Eiffel…Pilotez un engin spatial jusqu’aux confins de l’espace…Tout cela est possible avec une simple ficelle.
A Show With Strings est un charmant spectacle de marionnettes qui explore toutes les possibilités qu’offre une ficelle. Dans cette pièce interactive et ludique, créez différents mondes à l’aide d’une simple ficelle. Ce spectacle astucieux invite à l’imagination, à la créativité et à la pensée différente à tous les âges.
La pièce est conçue pour plaire à tous les âges, enfants ou grands-parents!
 
*L’admission est gratuite pour les bébés dans les bras de moins de 9 mois. Cependant, ils doivent être assis sur les genoux d’un tuteur.

Nova Scotia raised, Ottawa based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Malia Rogers has a clear musical mission: be the first person in the room to drop her shield, and in doing so, move others to lower their own.
Her introspective, conversational folk offerings carefully balance melancholy and hope, touching audiences with precise lyricism, warm alto vocals, and gentle wit. 
Joined by vocalist/keyboardist Emma Bayash and producer/guitarist Neil Whitford, Malia will perform her debut EP Chameleon on the eve of its release alongside other treasured originals both old and new. Audiences will enjoy stirring celtic and bluegrass-inspired melodies balancing melancholy & hope, relatable stories about love, grief, and self-discovery, and intricate harmonies supported by fingerstyle guitar and clawhammer banjo.
Alongside her solo practice, Malia’s multi-instrumentalism has made her a fixture in the award-winning folk trio Jessica Pearson & the East Wind, as well as on theatre stages as an actor-musician. Having most recently visited the Red Bird stage as a bandmate to Ian Sherwood, Malia is thrilled to return with her own offerings.
Through song and story, Malia invites you into the corners of her heart the way she would invite you into her family home on the East Coast: put down the heavy bags, stay as long as you need, and take something with you when you go.

To a generation of contemporary jazz guitar aficionados, Mike Stern is regarded as one of the true guitar greats of his generation. A player of remarkable facility whose searing lines are informed mainly by bebop and the blues while also carrying a rock-tinged intensity, Stern made his mark with Miles Davis in the early ‘80s before launching his solo career in 1985. Since then he has released 18 recordings as a leader, six of which were nominated for GRAMMY® Awards. In support of his latest album, Echoes and Other Songs (Artistry/Mack Avenue), Mike hits the stage with Dennis Chambers (drums), Bob Franceschini (sax), Noam Tanzer (bass), and Leni Stern (guitar, ngoni)

From harmonica to baritone guitar, from frontman to producer, Steve Marriner has spent over two decades shaping the sound of modern blues. With two JUNO Awards for his work with MonkeyJunk, a career spent touring with Colin James, and guest appearances with bona fide blues legends Buddy Guy and Jimmie Vaughan, Marriner has become one of Canada’s most versatile and respected musicians. 
Marriner’s approach to blending blues, rock, and roots music has made him a sought-after collaborator and a formidable solo artist. His previous album, Hope Dies Last, earned a 2022 JUNO nomination, and his production work on Big Dave McLean’s This Old Life won  him yet another award at the 2025 JUNOs. With Hear My Heart, his upcoming full-length album, Marriner continues to push boundaries, proving that the blues isn’t just tradition—it’s alive, electric, and constantly evolving.
