The Fugitives are an acoustic folk-roots group headed by songwriters Adrian Glynn and Brendan McLeod. They’re joined by banjo player Chris Suen (Viper Central) and violinist Carly Frey (The Coal Porters). Over their first five albums, they’ve amassed a JUNO nomination, 6 CFMA nominations, and toured extensively through Canada, Europe, and the UK.
Performance highlights include major Canadian folk festivals, a Glastonbury performance, and a tour supporting  Buffy Sainte-Marie. In 2020, the band created RIDGE, a WW1-centered theatre show. Ridge has been performed at theatres across Canada and was named a Globe & Mail Top Arts Pick of the Year.
The band has earned a reputation for unforgettable live shows, brimming with complex harmonies, infectious storytelling, and top-notch musicianship.

The Fugitives est un groupe folk acoustique dirigé par les auteurs-compositeurs Adrian Glynn et Brendan McLeod. Ball and Chain & The Wreckers are an Ottawa based band with Michael Ball and Jody Benjamin as the shackles holding this group together. Michael and Jody have been making frequent trips to Louisiana since 1997 and the music from Southwest Louisiana and its cultural context continues to fascinate them.
They play a mixture of original and cover tunes leaning towards the earlier country that still sounded like country. Some of their favourites are Hank Williams, George Jones, Roger Miller and Webb Pierce.

Featuring a blend of acoustic instruments, rural soundscapes, and wistful vocals, Great Lake Swimmers are a critically acclaimed indie-folk group led by songwriter/vocalist Tony Dekker. Based in Toronto, Ontario, the group emerged in the early 2000s with a succession of heavily atmospheric albums recorded in old silos and rural country churches. The music developed in that pastoral warmth, performed and recorded in acoustically unique and historical locales with a revolving cast of personnel. They are renowned for their homespun folk and lush, intimate Americana in their live set.
Great Lake Swimmers celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2023 with “Uncertain Country,” an album where doubts are followed by discovery, demos end up as finished tracks, and themes of new beginnings, rear-view reflections, and ruminations on the fluidity of time form the basis of the eleven new songs.
It follows a prolonged period of collective anxiety. Recorded in different locales—and with a variety of musicians—a theme of questioning runs throughout. Even before the world turned upside down, Dekker felt mired in uncertainty: from the climate crisis to the ever-changing political landscape. The “uncertain country” chosen as the album’s theme is not a specific place. Rather, it’s a territory we, as humans, inhabit in the 21st century — a world that, more often than not, is confusing, unfamiliar and unsettling.
“Moonlight, Stay Above” epitomizes what Great Lake Swimmers represents. A 10-voice strong women’s choir (Niagara's Minuscule) lifts the lonely-sounding and wistful song up. As with that addition, the band on each album is fluid and always evolving.
Great Lake Swimmers were shortlisted for the prestigious Polaris Music Prize and nominated twice for Canada’s Juno Awards, with the CBC calling them “a national treasure.”

Aleksi grew up on stage. At five years old, he began performing alongside his mother, Canadian folk icon, Connie Kaldor. At nineteen, Aleksi moved to Paris to study under Jazz-violin legend Didier Lockwood. At twenty-one, Aleksi became the only student to have ever been accepted into the classical violin, the jazz violin and the jazz voice performance programs at McGill University. And, by twenty-five, with only a six-song EP, Aleksi graced the lineups of some of the most competitive folk festivals across Canada for three consecutive years - including the Regina, Canmore, and Bear Creek Folk Festivals.
Most recently, Aleksi received both a Canada Council Grant and a FACTOR Grant to fully fund the recording and production of his highly-anticipated 10-song debut album For the Giving, launching fall 2023. Still based out of his hometown of Montreal, Aleksi floors audiences by singing while bowing his violin and seamlessly navigating songs in English and in French. His original music blends folk songwriting with an edgy, multi-layered sound resulting from his unique combination of voice, violin, and looping-effect pedals.

The Tartan Ball has become a traditional favourite with 200+ attendees dressed in their kilts and Scottish finery, ready to enjoy a fine meal and the best of Scottish entertainment.
The evening begins with a Social Hour at 6:00 pm, with dinner at 7:00 pm followed by entertainment with the Glengarry Pipe Band and the MacCulloch Dancers. The evening dance commences around 9:15 pm.
Guests will enjoy a lovely 3 course dinner served and haggis (including the time-honoured Address to a Haggis).

Matthew Barber is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter who has been touring and making records for over two decades. He has released 11 albums, garnered two Juno nominations, several Canadian Folk Music Award nominations, performed extensively across four continents and racked up plenty of radio play and millions of streams. Inspired by 60’s rock and roll, folk and soul, 70’s singer-songwriters, old-time country and blues and 90’s indie rock, Matthew has carved out his own sound in the 21st century that has matured over the years. These days Matthew is equally at home performing with his band or solo when he’s not in the studio producing music for up and coming artists. His most recent release is an EP entitled No Singing or Dancing.

Inspiré par le rock and roll des années 60, le folk et la soul, les auteurs-compositeurs-interprètes des années 70, le country et le blues d'antan et le rock indépendant des années 90, Matthew s'est forgé son propre son au XXIe siècle, qui a mûri au fil des ans. Aujourd'hui, Matthew se produit aussi bien avec son groupe qu'en solo, quand il n'est pas en studio en train de produire de la musique pour des artistes en devenir. Son dernier album en date est un EP intitulé No Singing or Dancing.

Connie Kaldor—singer-songwriter, entertainer, TV personality, and women’s music pioneer—is celebrating 45 yearsin show businessthis year with her upcoming 18th recording, titled Keep Going! She began her career in folk music as part of the Canadian wave alongside artistslike Stan Rogers and Valdy. Armed with her enormous stage presence, her unforgettable melodies, and her emotional depth as a songwriter, Connie became a headline act on the festival circuit. Born in Hamilton, Ontario to parents of Nova Scotian descent, Garnet Rogers spent many hours in front of the old floor model radio listening to Grand Ol' Opry broadcasts and harmonizing with his brother, the late folk legend Stan Rogers. Two years later, Garnet was playing the definitive 8-year-old's version of "Desolation Row" on his ukulele. He soon abandoned that instrument to teach himself the flute, violin and guitar.
At 18, Garnet was on the road as a full-time working musician with brother Stan. Together they formed what has come to be accepted as one of the most influential duos in the history of North American folk music. Garnet acted as producer and arranger for his older brother from 1973 to 1983, when Stan died tragically in a plane crash.
Since then, Garnet has courageously established himself as a formidable solo artist. Hailed by the Boston Globe as a "...charismatic performer and singer — one of the major talents of our time,” they continue by saying that "Garnet’s vocal and instrumental talents are complimented by an undeniably powerful physical presence — close to six and a half feet tall — with the lungs to match.” With his "smooth, dark baritone" (Washington Post) his incredible range and thoughtful, dramatic phrasing, Garnet is widely considered by fans and critics alike to be one of the finest singers anywhere. His music, like the man himself, is literate, passionate, highly sensitive, and deeply purposeful. Cinematic in detail, his songs give expression to the unspoken language of the heart. An optimist at heart, Garnet sings extraordinary songs about people who are not obvious heroes and of the small everyday victories. As memorable as his songs, his over-the-top humor and lightning-quick wit move his audiences from tears to laughter and back again.
Rogers has been the featured performer on numerous television and radio programs including Much Music, Mountain Stage, and All Things Considered. He has been a headliner at concert venues and festivals such as Wolf Trap, Lincoln Center, and Art Park; sharing the stage with performers such as Mary Chapin Carpenter, Billy Bragg, Bill Monroe, Ferron, Greg Brown, and Guy Clark. The visual world of Arborialis is enhanced by the natural and spiritual sounds of the Song of Danu created by Irish composer Dr Michael Morris.

Les rues et les parcs de toutes les villes ont des bancs qui invitent les passants à s’y asseoir et à partager leurs histoires.
Une femme s’assoit sur un banc pour y trouver paix et quiétude, mais rencontre des passants qui ont d’autres plans. Avec des marionnettes superbement détaillées, la pièce loue la simplicité de la vie quotidienne.
Cette histoire touchante et drôle raconte une journée ordinaire dans la vie d’un banc. Un banc, c’est si banal, et pourtant c’est très magique! On en voit partout dans les villes, les parcs et les jardins. Ce sont de véritables invitations. Parfois, les visiteurs d’un banc ne font que se frôler, parfois leur rencontre évolue.
Une femme âgée fait tout ce qu’elle peut pour éloigner la vie, du moins de son banc. Mais son environnement mouvementé la prend par surprise. Si seulement les autres pouvaient la laisser être vieille et grognonne seule! Un garçon passe sur une planche à roulettes, un chien renifle en trottant à toute vitesse, les oiseaux gazouillent et un amical vieil homme veut lire son journal. Tout cela lui tombe sur les nerfs!

This show will consist of two 50 minute sets with 30 minute intermission / meet & greet. Both sets will feature three stories, each ending with a rendition of that artists music by Jesse Greene.  
Richard Flohil has spent the last 60 years in the Canadian music business as a writer, concert promoter, band manager (and road manager), publicist, venue booker, folk and blues festival artistic director, and television talent coordinator. He goes to hear live music in clubs and at concerts regularly — he was at 126 music events last year. 
The only thing he’s not done is sing, play and instrument, or dance; he leaves that to people with superb musical talent, like Jesse Greene 
 Neither has he produced a record, though he’s sat in at almost two dozen recording sessions. As a concert promoter, he’s presented artists as diverse as B.B. King, Stompin’ Tom, Solomon Burke, Miles Davis, Rambling Jack Elliott, Muddy Waters, Benny Goodman, Ray Charles, The Chieftains, Leon Redbone, Mary Gauthier and dozens more. 
As a speaker, he has keynoted music conferences at several folk and blues conventions. 
As a publicist, helping artists become better known, his clients have included the Downchild Blues Band, Loreena McKennitt, k.d. lang, the Mariposa Folk Festival, Serena Ryder, Shakura S’Aida, Nana Mouskouri and many, many others. For two years, he’s been writing pieces about all these people — and many others — on Substack, an online platform that allows writers to upload their article so subscribers can read them. He has more than 1,000 readers; his column is called “Stories From the Edge of Music." 
Because he can’t play music, the gods gave him the gift of talking about music. His stories are (he hopes) entertaining, informative, funny and even inspiring.

Each month Bluegrass Wednesdays begins with a 2 hour concert followed by a jam session.
Concert goers are encouraged to bring your instruments and /or voices and join in for a post concert jam.
The Monroe Sisters have been a cornerstone of Bluegrass Mondays since its inception. While the lineup has changed and expanded over the years, the focus is still the same.Centred around the female voices, they bring a fresh sound to the genre with both traditional and well chosen newer material - all supported by excellent instrumentation. With each member of the band singing lead, the audience is treated to a great variety of beautifully unique voices, harmony stacks, and song choices. The Monroe Sisters have become an audience favourite for their talent and fun performances. Bluegrass Wednesdays ft. The Monroe Sisters

No stranger to Canadian and International audiences, Russell deCarle is recognized as the lead singer and one of the founding members of award-winning multi-platinum country-roots group Prairie Oyster. For over a decade, he has concentrated on his solo career, and has released four recordings, the most recent being “The End of the Road”. 
 deCarle’s music isn’t easily categorized. Apparent are influences from a lifetime spent absorbing musical genres ranging from southern soul and restrained balladry--with obvious touches of jazz and blues--to old-school country and western swing.

Bill FrisellBill Frisell’s career as a guitarist and composer has spanned more than 40 years and many celebrated recordings, whose catalog has been cited by Downbeat as “the best recorded output of the decade”.Grammy nominated, his latest recording is entitled Orchestras released April 2024 on Blue Note. In the trio format he’s favored throughout his career, the guitarist and composer has always projected an orchestral scope — through his remarkably complete sense of harmony, a unique gift for melodies that remain with you long after a performance, and a keen feel for how dynamic range can be used to convey emotion. But on his new double album, his fourth release for Blue Note Records, he makes those symphonic evocations a reality. Produced by Lee Townsend, Orchestras documents two inspired concert-hall engagements arranged by Michael Gibbs for Frisell’s long-standing trio with bassist Thomas Morgan and drummer Rudy Royston: one featuring the nearly 60-piece Brussels Philharmonic, conducted by Alexander Hanson; and one with the 11-piece Umbria Jazz Orchestra, under the musical direction of Manuele Morbidini.In March 2022, a biography on Frisell, entitled Beautiful Dreamer – The Guitarist Who Changed The Sound of American Music, written by Philip Watson was published by Faber and released in the UK, Europe, South, Central America & Asia. Through unprecedented access, and interviews with his close family, friends and collaborators, Philip Watson tells the story of the innovative and influential guitarist and composer. Recognized as one of America’s 21 most vital and productive performing artists, Frisell was named an inaugural Doris Duke Artist in 2012. He is also a recipient of grants from United States Artists and Meet the Composer, among others. From 2013 – 2015, Bill was Resident Artistic Director for Jazz at Lincoln Center for their Roots of Americana series, and in 2016, he was a beneficiary of the first FreshGrass Composition commission to preserve and support innovative grassroots music. Upon San Francisco Jazz opening their doors in 2013, he served as one of their Resident Artistic Directors.Bill is also the subject of a documentary film by director Emma Franz, entitled Bill Frisell: A Portrait, which examines his creative process in depth. He has also received an honorary doctorate from the Berklee College of Music.Rudy RoystonBorn in Fort Worth, Texas, and raised in Denver, Colorado, Royston has been a professional teacher, drummer and percussionist for almost twenty years. He studied classical percussion at University of Denver where earned undergraduate degrees in Music and English, and accomplished teacher certification credentials from Metropolitan State College of Denver. Rudy grew up playing drums in church, and found his voice under the auspices of Colorado’s celebrated trumpeter Ron Miles, whom Royston deems his greatest influence, and with whom Rudy has played since 1991. He has taught, recorded and performed all styles of music from Jazz to marching percussion. Since moving to Piscataway, New Jersey in 2006, Royston has completed a Masters in Music degree from Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and performed with many of today’s finest Jazz musicians. A lover of all genres of music, Rudy continues to pursue music and expand his music horizons.Thomas MorganThomas Morgan is a New York-based jazz double bassist from the San Francisco Bay Area. Known for his telepathic synchronicity, melodic and expressive phrasing, precise touch, and amber sound, he has performed alongside a number of the most trendsetting artists in jazz, including Bill Frisell, Jakob Bro, Craig Taborn, Masabumi Kikuchi, Paul Motian, Dan Weiss, Jim Black, John Abercrombie, Dave Binney, Steve Coleman, Ethan Iverson, Aaron Parks, Fred Hersch, Charles Lloyd, Henry Threadgill, and Tomasz Stanko, among manyothers.
