Lazarettes, from Toronto, Canada, are currently playing out in support of their most recent album Sweet Misery, produced by Ron Hawkins of the Lowest of the Low. The band plays alternative roots rock filled with harmony and storytelling underpinned by earworms of the first order. As Steve Stanley, one of Canada's journeymen songwriters and host of Northern Wish radio, says, of Lazarettes - "artists standing up against fascism is where it's at."
Lazarettes began as a collective of musicians featuring members of Fembots and Sour Landslide, releasing records and performing in and around Toronto, Canada. When the call came to play a fateful show at Toronto's legendary Horseshoe Tavern and not all members could assemble, principal songwriter Chris Tait called on guitarist Richard Peirce, songwriter/musician Bryce Thomas, bassist Chris Monster and legendary drummer Adam Warner (Ron Sexsmith, Sarah Slean, Sarah Harmer, Bahamas, Royal Wood, Jill Barber,Whitehorse) to fill the void.
Ron Hawkins, long a friend of the group's members, joined on to helm the recording at Union Sound with engineer Chris Stringer. What happened next was three days of bottling the lightning the band suddenly found themselves riding.
Today, with the first single “Knock is at the Door” out and the band touring in support of the Sweet Misery album, Lazarettes is coming into its own with a raucous live show featuring sharp, literate songwriting, driving rhythms and singalong harmonies. Queens of Country: Reba, Dolly & Shania

Two specific camping areas are available at the Games site.  One for motorhomes and tent trailers, and another for tent camping. Grounds open for camping Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 10:00 am and will continue to take campers until noon on Saturday, August 1, 2026.  Pets are welcome in the RV camping area as long as they remain at the RV and are leashed at all times. No pets are allowed on the Games site other than service animals.

RV Registration:


The individual who registers the RV or vehicle and camper in their name (an adult over the age of 18) must be staying at the site, and takes full responsibility for what happens on and around their site. 

Each site must have 1 registrant who registers the site before additional people or youths 12 years or under can register.



Pre-registration:


Pre-registration of your RV or vehicle and camper is a convenient way to pre-pay for attendance. This will also speed up your arrival process at the gate.


Pre-registration is available until Sunday, July 26, 2026 at 11:59 pm. After this date, all registrations will occur at the Campground gate.

Serviced Sites


NEW - All serviced site sales will only be available via on-line purchasing as of 2026. No site reservations can be made by calling the Games office.


Serviced RV sites go on sale Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 9:00am.


The cost for a serviced site is $125 . This value is only for the reservation of a serviced site.


Camping and gate entry fees are not included in the serviced site fee and must be purchased separately via pre-registration beginning May 1st, 2026, or on-site Thursday, July 30th , 2026. Please see Camping and Gate Entry Fees


There are only 18 serviced sites and once they are sold, the on-line option will close.


In late April, purchasers will be contacted with their assigned lot number.


 
Non-serviced Sites


RV’s and trailers can be pre-registered, but specific lots are not able to be reserved. Locations are on a first-come, first-served basis.


Historically, the RV and Trailer camping area will fill to capacity. The Glengarry Highland Games will make all efforts to accommodate camping visitors, but space cannot be guaranteed.  Pre-registration and payment do not guarantee a space; it is only provided as a convenience to speed your arrival experience.


Pre-registration is available as of May 1, 2026, at 9:00am and will be available until Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 11:59pm.


 
Camping and Gate Entry Fees


RV’s and trailers can be pre-registered, but specific lots are not able to be reserved. Locations are on a first-come, first-served basis.


The cost for camping and Games event entry is $110.00 per person, no charge for children under 12 years old. Maximum of 6 individuals per site.


The $110.00 fee is all inclusive and purchasers cannot limit their paid stay to individual days.


The $110.00 fee includes camping fee ($50.00), Friday gate ($30.00) and Saturday gate ($30.00) admissions. For example, a serviced site with 4 people staying on it would be $440.00 in total.

GARY LOURIS
Over the last three decades, singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer Gary Louris has built a deeply compelling body of music whose artistry and integrity has won the loyalty of an international audience and the respect of both critics and his peers. Best known for his seminal work with The Jayhawks, he is one of the most acclaimed musicians to come out of Minnesota’s vibrantrock scene.
Concurrent with his time in the Jayhawks, Louris has been a charter member of the part-time alt-rock supergroup Golden Smog, which at various times has in-cluded members of Soul Asylum, Wilco, the Replacements and Big Star. Louris also formed Au Pair with North Carolina artist Django Haskins in 2015 and re-leased an album that same year. Along the way Louris has produced records by various artists, contributed songs to Grammy Award-winning albums by the Tedeschi/Trucks Band and The Dixie Chicks; and recorded with acts as diverse as the Black Crowes, Counting Crows, Uncle Tupelo, Joe Henry, John Hiatt, Lucinda Williams, Roger McGuinn, Maria McKee, Nickel Creek, Carrie Rodriguez, Tift Merritt and the Wallflowers.
Louris released his first solo album, Vagabonds, in 2008. His long awaited sec-ond solo album,Jump For Joy, came out in June 2021. In 2021 Louris also launched a Patreon page, featuring weekly posts of new and old music, video content, commentary and more. In the summer of 2024, Louris announced on Patreon that his third solo album would be released in early 2025.
Dark Country was released on February 14, 2025 –Valentine's Day, appropriate for the subject matter of the album –on Sham/Thirty Tigers. Dark Country received widespread acclaim from fans and the press. Spin named Dark Country one of their favorite albums of 2025.

Join us on April 14th, 2026 at the Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre for a powerful night of music and giving in support of the Ottawa Jazz Festival, featuring the legendary Blind Boys of Alabama in concert celebrating the 50th anniversary of the classic Stevie Wonder album, Songs in the Key of Life. Doors open at 6:00pm for a special pre-show fundraising reception with a paid bar, an online auction, and other engaging opportunities to support the Festival’s year-round artistic and community work, followed by the concert at 8:00pm. All proceeds raised benefit the Ottawa Jazz Festival, a not-for-profit organization.
With both VIP and General Admission tickets available, this evening offers a unique chance to enjoy an iconic live performance while directly contributing to the future of jazz and live music in Ottawa.

Matthew Barber is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter, recording and touring artist, producer, and sometimes drummer. He’s been making records and touring professionally since 2003.
He has a bunch of albums out there that you can track down digitally on the streaming platforms or on LP and CD (please visit his “Merch” section for links to where you can buy stuff). Some have even been nominated for awards. The latest one is called Phase Of The Moon and it’s one of the best. As we emerge from the global pandemic he’s excited to get back to playing live shows and releasing new music.

With a compassionate and candid lens, filmmaker Courtney Montour weaves energetic on-track game play with tender moments in teammates’ daily lives as skaters from over 30 Indigenous Nations navigate and learn each other’s play styles at tournaments and find strength within each other to compete and skate onto the track with pride.

About Brad Mehldau
One of the most lyrical and intimate voices of contemporary jazz piano, Brad Mehldau has forged a unique path, which embodies the essence of jazz exploration, classical romanticism and pop allure. From critical acclaim as a bandleader to major international exposure in collaborations with Pat Metheny, Renee Fleming, and Joshua Redman, Mehldau continues to garner numerous awards and admiration from both jazz purists and music enthusiasts alike. His forays into melding musical idioms, in both trio and solo settings, has seen brilliant re-workings of songs by contemporary songwriters like The Beatles, Cole Porter, Radiohead, Paul Simon, Gershwin and Nick Drake; alongside the ever evolving breadth of his own significant catalogue of original compositions. With his self-proclaimed affection for popular music and classical training, “Mehldau is the most influential jazz pianist of the last 20 years” (The New York Times).

The latest work by Ashkan Khatibi, a renowned artist in Iranian cinema and theater, is a deeply personal play that serves as a semi-autobiographical reflection. While it tells the artist’s own story, it also captures the experiences of thousands who have endured the harsh realities of censorship and oppression.
"Lui" was published in Italy in both Persian and Italian by the prestigious publisher Baldini & Castoldi. The play enjoyed a highly successful seven-night run in Milan, produced by Teatro Franco Parenti, where it was met with enthusiastic acclaim from audiences.
This compelling performance will be performed in Vancouver for the first time after Italy, Sweden, Norway, and Austria.

Mama’s Broke have spent over a decade in a near-constant state of transience, pounding the transatlantic tour trail. They've brought their dark, fiery folk-without-borders sound to major festivals and DIY punk houses alike, absorbing traditions from their maritime home in Eastern Canada all the way to Ireland and Indonesia. Nowhere is the duo's art-in-motion approach more apparent than on their long-awaited JUNO-nominated sophomore record Narrow Line  (released May 2022 on Free Dirt Records) It's the sound of nowhere in particular, yet woven with a rich synthesis of influences that knows no borders.
The eleven songs on Narrow Line burrow deeply, with close harmony duets, commanding vocals, and poignant contemplations on cycles of life, including birth and death. Tinges of Americana stand side-by-side with the ghosts of Eastern European fiddle tunes and ancient a cappella ballad singing, melding into an unusually accessible dark-folk sound. A careful listen of Narrow Line invokes an ephemeral sense of place—whether real or imagined—inviting us to take comfort in the infinite possibilities of life, whether or not we ever choose to settle down. 
For a group defined by constant touring, it’s not surprising that the two artists that make up Mama’s Broke, Lisa Maria and Amy Lou Keeler, met on the road. Both coming out of travelling communities that are focused on music and protest, the two owe the way in which they move through the world to the integrated and self-sustaining nature of DIY culture and activism. It was a busy life that took them on a roundabout annual touring schedule running between Canada, the United States, Ireland, the UK, and Europe.
The driving force behind this band is – and has always been – the commitment to challenge borders between people, places, and traditions; while encouraging freedom of expression and community through music.


Mama's Broke


A Saskatoon native transplanted to the Niagara Region of Ontario, Roots and Blues singer and musician Suzie Vinnick is a 3X Juno Nominee, a 2X Canadian Folk Music Award winner, won a 2024 ECMA with her project A’Court, Spiegel and Vinnick and is a 12-time winner of the Maple Blues Award for songwriting, female vocalist, acoustic act and more. Suzie has a voice you’ve heard a thousand times and one you’ll never forget. It soars, it growls, it whispers and it shouts from a deep, deep well of emotion. The pure joy she exudes when she plays her guitars is so worth the show.
In May 2024, Suzie performed at the Teatro Nazionale in Genova, Italy, as a guest of Italian acoustic guitarist and singer Beppe Gambetta and she also performed at the Baltic Blues Festival in Eutin, Germany. In July 2024 Suzie and her band opened for Burton Cummings at the Kemptville Live Music Festival; she also appeared as a special guest of Blackie & the Rodeo Kings at Ottawa Bluesfest in 2023, performing alongside Daniel Lanois.  She has also toured nationally with Downchild, Stuart McLean’s The Vinyl Café, with ASV (Charlie A’Court, Lloyd Spiegel and Vinnick), the John McDermott Band and she performed for Canadian Peacekeepers in Bosnia and the Persian Gulf. She was also the voice of Tim Horton’s for 5 years.
Her latest album is entitled “Fall Back Home”.

Suzie Vinnick

The season concludes in grand fashion with Joseph Haydn’s The Creation, presented in collaboration with the Ottawa Choral Society, celebrating its 85th anniversary.
Widely regarded as a masterpiece of the Classical period, Haydn’s oratorio draws on a German translation of Milton’s Paradise Lost. Its 1799 premiere in Vienna was a sensation, and the work continues to inspire audiences with its sweeping vision and luminous music.
