Picture a quaint and seemingly tranquil town where a group of elderly ladies, known for their knitting circles and charitable bake sales, find themselves tangled in a surprising plot twist. Their serene routine is disrupted when a local nuisance threatens their beloved community center, and they jokingly concoct a plan to "eliminate" the problem. However, with their first attempt at murder, chaos ensues, leading to a series of humorous mishaps and misunderstandings. As the story unfolds, the ladies must navigate their way through unexpected consequences, all while uncovering secrets, building friendships, and ultimately solving a mystery that none of them anticipated. John Hewitt is a force not seen since the end of the 70’s. There are bands, artists and songwriters that mimic and imitate but John Hewitt absorbs and reimagines. From folk clubs to house concerts, festivals to halls John is a master of storytelling, arranging, producing and a painter of poems scarcely seen in today’s musical climate. Since his early teens taking in the powerful sounds of the Beatles, Tom Petty, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and the Grateful Dead he has been wandering, searching and yielding a crop of new ideas from the old world.  A multi-instrumentalist from Sault Ste. Marie Ontario and being Alberta bound since 2018 John’s mark on the Western music scene is impossible to go unnoticed. Performing over 150 shows per year (From Alberta and British Columbia to Montana, Colorado, California and beyond), covering 20,000 miles per annum and releasing upwards of 3 albums in that same timeframe there is no comparison to the work ethic, the attitude and the drive that John has as an artist. Fronting the New Americans and touring solo most of the year his output impresses the young and the old, the folk and the rock, the country and the town and the only thing left at the end of the night is a feeling you won’t get anywhere else.
 

 
A poet born in the heat of Las Vegas, Abigayle Oakley blends the melodic richness of folk pioneers with the lyrical honesty oftoday’s confessional singer-songwriters. Her songs explore the complexities of life and the existential questions that shape us, often with a sharp, tongue-in-cheek wit that adds layers of humor and insight.
Abigayle made her Bluebird Cafe debut in 2024. She has toured the US and Canada opening for acts such as The War and Treaty, Jed and The Valentine, Forest Blakk and more.
Her songs have been recorded by Nashville artists including Kate Yeager, Molly Frances, and CMT’s September Artist of the Month, Ash Ruder. When not writing, practicing, or performing, you can find Abigayle hiking the beautiful hills of Tennessee.

Musician and storyteller Steve Olson uncovers the incredible true story of the concert by four future Hall of Famers -- Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Wanda Jackson -- that shook his hometown of Camrose. Using classic guitars, historic photos, and masterful storytelling, Olson brings to life this "rockabilly roadtrip" from Memphis to small-town Alberta. Don't miss this one-man rockabilly spectacle where legendary songs, untold history, and nostalgia collide!

Stephen Olson is a classically-trained guitarist who learned to play Chet Atkins thumb-picking from his Uncle Lyndy. By playing bass and melody lines simultaneously, Stephen can authentically replicate the country and rockabilly sounds of the 1950s. Stephen draws the audiences in with his electric performances and stories from this golden era of music.
 


Johnny Cash & The Rockabillies

Need a kick start to get writing? These drop-in nights will provide you a safe space to write, discuss, and share your work. Each session will include time to work on your own project or follow a freefall writing prompt. For the regular attendees, optional prompts will be given to work on outside of each session.
Please bring a notebook or charged laptop. No writing experience necessary. 
$8 per evening
 
Facilitator: Fran Kimmel
Fran has worked an eclectic mix of jobs including youth worker, career counsellor, proposal writer, and a ten-year stint as VP for a career consulting firm. Her short stories have appeared in literary journals from coast to coast, and her plays have been produced for both theatre and radio. Fran has published two novels. The Shore Girl landed on the CBC Top 40-Book List and won the Alberta Reader’s Choice Award. No Good Asking, shortlisted for the 2019 Georges Bugnet and ReLit Awards, has been translated for international markets. Fran’s third novel, Cattail Lane, hit bookshelves in the spring of 2025.

A guitar prodigy from the age of 9, Aaron Young performed in and directed the world-beat stage show, Barrage, touring Asia, Scandinavia, the UK, Canada and the US. 
Young’s music has been featured on PBS, CBC, MTV, Bravo and the BBC. He has produced Barrage, The Polyjesters, John Wort Hannam, Susan Aglukark and Ghostboy.
The duo’s unique history results in an amazing show. Their first two albums garnered a YYC Music Awards 2023 Blues Recording of the year and a WCMA Music Award nomination for Blues Act of the Year.

Jâca is an award-winning clarinet/guitar duo that combines world music, virtuosity, and humor to bring an adventurous, passionate, and completely original musical style to the stage. Peter and the Starcatcher is the prequel story to Peter Pan! It tells the story of how a miserable orphan becomes "The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up" aka Peter Pan. A young orphan and his mates are shipped off from Victorian England to a distant island ruled by the evil King Zarboff. They know nothing of the mysterious trunk in the captain’s cabin, which contains a precious, otherworldly cargo. At sea, the boys are discovered by a precocious young girl named Molly, a Starcatcher-in-training who realizes that the trunk’s precious cargo is starstuff, a celestial substance so powerful that it must never fall into the wrong hands. When the ship is taken over by pirates – led by the fearsome Black Stache, a villain determined to claim the trunk and its treasure for his own – the journey quickly becomes a thrilling adventure.

Every time someone announces the death of rock ‘n’ roll, Toronto’s most incendiary power trio roll with the punches and keep rocking with maximum commitment to the cause. Danko Jones are a three-piece rock ‘n’ roll band from Toronto. They never sleep. They sweat blood. And they are keeping rock alive by doing it better than anyone else.
On duty since 1996, these unstoppable road-hogs have devoted their lives to rousing the people with blistering all-action rock. They have rallied a global army of rock-hungry fans, and blown them away with a steady stream of explosive, anthem-packed albums and an absurd number of live shows. From early underground smashes like We Sweat Blood and Sleep Is The Enemy, to the band’s recent, triumphant triumvirate of A Rock Supreme (2019), Power Trio (2021) and Electric Sounds (2023), Danko Jones have been a relentless force for rock ‘n’ roll good, both in the studio and on the road. And they have absolutely no intention of stopping.
“You know what? I like the routine of recording, touring, writing, and repeat,” states singer/guitarist, Danko Jones himself. “I can do that till I’m dead! It may sound boring, but it’s so hard for a band to achieve. I don’t take this lightly. Also, it’s a page out of the Motörhead handbook so it works! Since Electric Sounds we’ve been touring and touring. We managed to play in Mexico and Greece for the first time, and we even played Prince Edward Island, a province in Canada we’d never been to before. Other than that, it’s been a life of gigs and writing more songs to play more gigs!”
Proving that their time was well-spent, Danko, bassist John Calabrese and drummer Rich Knox have conjured yet another blazing banquet of nourishing rock goodness on their 12th studio record, Leo Rising. 11 songs deep and as sharp and fat-free as it gets, it enters with a bang and leaves with a swinging van door and a cloud of smoke. Danko Jones’ unerring ability to write righteous sing-along turbo-bangers has never been more apparent.
From the thunderous knucklehead action rock of opener What You Need and the insanely catchy Diamond In The Rough, which features a cameo from living guitar legend Marty Friedman, to the rampaging power-pop of Every Day Is Saturday Night and the post-Pistols roots-punk juggernaut I Love It Louder, the first four songs alone are hot enough to burn a million beards.
“I could give you some pat answers as to our writing process, new inspirations, experimental tangents and all of that,” states Danko, “but the truth is that this is yet another serving of peerless hard rock served via bass, drums, guitar and vocals. No frills, just meat and potato music meant to put a satisfying smile on your face, preferably while the windows are rolled down.” He isn’t kidding. Leo Rising may just be the most uplifting and inspirational Danko Jones album to date. With songs that take a wry squint into the human relationship miasma, like the positively priapic Hot Fox, and mischievous, sleaze metal throwback Pretty Stuff, and grittier glimpses of the band’s real-life trials and tribulations via the muscular, motoring Gotta Let It Go and the swaggering, riff-rich I’m Going Blind. Meanwhile, It’s A Celebration delivers exactly as promised: fiery, red-blooded rock ‘n’ roll to lift the spirits. Produced to red-hot perfection by esteemed Canadian engineer and long-time collaborator Eric Ratz, Leo Rising is what loud guitars were made for.
“You know the sound every kid makes with their mouth when they play air guitar?” Danko asks. “That’s still the sound I want to put on every album we make. If we can come close to that sound, that’s an album worth releasing. Eric Ratz produced this album and he knows this about me. I have complete faith in the guitar tones he manages to capture. There weren’t any changes in recording. We still did it all apart from one another, like our previous two albums. JC recorded in Finland, Rich flew in from Prince Edward Island to Toronto to record his drums, and I worked with Eric in Toronto on guitars and vocals.”
Never busier, never better and never too loud, Danko Jones are back. Not that they ever went away. Over the last 25 years, they have recorded and toured relentlessly, growing in stature with every gig and drawing in fans from all corners of the rock, punk and metal world. Leo Rising could be the finest record the trio have ever made, and Danko is inclined to agree, but he remains a rock ‘n’ roll realist when it comes to world domination. 
“I don’t care how punk you are, every band secretly thinks about every album they release going double platinum,” notes Danko. “Everyone thinks they’ll be doing a stadium tour, and winning ten Grammys. But we snap back into reality and cross our fingers that people will even just get to hear it, with all the other bands vying for attention these days. Saying ‘I hope people hear it!’ comes before ‘I hope they like it!’ in 2025.”
While still fighting to be heard in a crowded marketplace, Danko Jones are too tough to die and too determined to quit. Leo Rising is another triumph from one of the most consistent bands in the biz. Above all, it showcases the fizzing, electrified chemistry between the three members of this six-legged powerhouse. A stable and harmonious unit since 2013, Danko Jones join forces on stage every night, united in love for riffs, melodies, and a raucous, sweat-drenched good time.
“This is the line-up I wish we had from the start,” Danko concludes. “I’m not just saying that because time has already proven it. First and foremost, we all get along with each other onstage and offstage. The mood is always light and nobody’s ego gets in the way. When it comes to writing and recording, we are all on the same page and we service the songs, always!”

His discography includes heavy riff epics, like Thrush Hermit's now-classic swansong Clayton Park (1999); low-fi and wide eyed solo records like In Need of Medical Attention (1999) and La De Da (2005); lean, loose and lyrical rock and roll with the Emergency on Down at the Khyber (2001) and Truthfully, Truthfully (2003); and a father-and-son nod to English folk traditions with Solidarity (2017). Then there are the endeavour's that push the envelope further: the Emergency’s romantic epic concept album Ashtray Rock (2007); the months-long songwriting challenge Scrappy Happiness (2012); and Three (2009) and 44 (2020), Joel’s sprawling, multi-record ventures exploring love, loss, and existential investigation. For his latest release, the 4-track project One Real Reveal (2024), Plaskett strips his songwriting down to its raw materials, allowing everything in—all the human touches the tape could pick up—and letting (almost) everything out. Coast-to-coast and the world 'round, Joel has rocked crowds at clubs, festivals and grand old theatres with longtime Emergency bandmates Dave Marsh and Chris Pennell as well as drawn audiences close with
intimate acoustic shows, both solo and with his father, Bill. Then there are the special events that have really allowed Joel to reach the rafters, like headlining Toronto’s Massey Hall with everyone in tow, playing the NAC in Ottawa backed by the national orchestra, and warming up huge stages for artists like The Tragically Hip and Paul McCartney. Joel and the Emergency have also been roundly celebrated within the music industry for their work, racking up awards and nominations from the JUNOs, the Polaris Music Prize, the East Coast Music Awards, Music Nova Scotia, and numerous others. While Joel’s songs are beloved far beyond the community that helped forge his sound, his creative heart is still found at home in Nova Scotia. At 45 Portland Street in Dartmouth there’s Fang Recording, the studio where he’s made many of his albums and produced records for other great artists like Mo Kenney, Steve Poltz, Shotgun Jimmie and Jimmy Rankin.
And through the door to the front of the building lies Taz Records, Morley's Coffee and Friction Books. Since 2023, Joel has used the space to present Window Inn Wednesdays, a monthly, no-phones-allowed variety show that pushes back—like most of his projects—against the speed and din of modern life, making space for real engagement between art, artist, and audience. 2025 saw the release of ‘Songs From The Gang – A Celebration of Joel Plaskett’ – a deluxe covers album featuring the music of Joel Plaskett performed by Arkells, Sloan, Jill Barber, The Sheepdogs, Julian Taylor, Jenn Grant, Bahamas, City and Colour, Rose Cousins, Frank Turner, and many more.

Fab Morvan (born Fabrice Maxime Sylvain Morvan on May 14, 1966, in Paris) is a French-born singer, dancer, and producer known as the surviving member of the late‑’80s pop duo Milli Vanilli. Fab released his memoir, You Know It’s True, offering an intimate look at his journey through fame, scandal, and redemption. Most recently, he was announced as a 2026 Grammy nominee, marking a milestone in reclaiming his musical legacy.
Discovered in Munich alongside partner Rob Pilatus by producer Frank Farian, Fab rose to global fame with hits like “Girl You Know It’s True, “Blame It on the Rain,” and “Baby Don’t Forget My Number,” even winning a Grammy for Best New Artist in 1990—later returned after it was revealed they hadn’t sung on their recordings.
After Pilatus’ tragic death in 1998, Fab continued his solo career, releasing the album Love Revolution in 2003 and performing worldwide. He also co-produced and consulted on two film projects telling his story: the Paramount+ documentary Milli Vanilli and the dramatized feature Girl You Know It’s True, which premiered in Germany in 2023 and North America in 2024 to praise for its emotional depth and honesty. Today, Fab continues to perform, create music, and share his story with new audiences.

Pong Fest is a 150-team Cup Pong tournament (300 people) that will be hosted by The Uno Club. The tournament will be held at MacEwan in the building 6 Cafeteria (Outside of Towers) on February 6th, 2026.

The event is 18+. IDs will be checked at the door. 
$14 Entry Fee PER TEAM, 2 players needed Per Team. No refunds will be provided for any reason. 
When registering, teams get to select what time they play their 3 Round Robin games. THREE timeslots are available (50 teams max per time slot):
#1-> 5pm-6pm
#2-> 6pm-7pm
#3-> 7pm-8pm
For your chosen time slot, your team must be available the full hour time slot you select and will play three games against three different teams. You must be at the Cafeteria and checked in by 10 minutes after the start of your timeslot AT THE LATEST. A sheet with pre-determined, in-game rules, will be available at each table. You must not start the game until that round has started. Scores from these games will then be reported to our scorekeepers and these scores will then decide which teams advance to the 64 team bracket!
 
**IMPORTANT READ BELOW**
ALL TEAMS MUST BE AVAILABLE FROM 8 PM-10 PM as well as their time slot
At 8 pm, once all teams have played 3 rounds in the round-robin portion of the tournament, scores will be calculated, and the top 64 teams of the Round Robin will be notified via email and will qualify to be entered into an elimination bracket that will start at 8:15 pm. Failure to show up for a scheduled game will result in an automatic loss for that team.
The bracket will be emailed to teams that qualify.
The bracket will continue to go with teams reporting who won to the designated scorekeepers.
The bracket will be a single elimination until the semi-finals.
The two losing teams in the semi-final round will play for third place.
Players are highly encouraged to stay between rounds and games. Even if you don't make the elimination bracket, stick around and keep the party going! Uno decks will be made available at the participant's convenience. 
New emails will be sent out after each round of the bracket has been played so teams know which tables they are playing at. This will continue until the first-place match-up.

Master Corporal Tanya Young, Captain Stephen Hughes, Private Jonny Henderson, and Sergeant Chris Anders lived through a violent botched mission while stationed in one of the most violent and war-torn sections of the Afghanistan War. Told through their separate accounts to an unseen broadcasting corporation, the truth isn’t always as simple as it seems as a picture is formed, painted by guilt, PTSD, nationalism and violence. Hannah Moscovitch’s Trillium Book Award-winning play is an unapologetic look into what soldiers endure and what civilians can oftentimes not see.
This performance contains mature content and potentially triggering content. Themes include adult language, sexual content (involving consent in a power-imbalanced dynamic), depictions of sexual assault, post-traumatic stress disorder, torture and war crimes, and reenactments of combat scenarios based on the Afghanistan War.
