Car Flex Pass - One ticket is all you need for everyone in your car (up to 8 people). You don’t need tickets for each person—just one for the whole vehicle! Tickets are flexible—there’s no need to book a date or time. Use your ticket on any day and time during the 2025 Magic of Lights season, up to January 3rd.
Car Dash Pass - Skip the line! For only a few dollars more per vehicle, the Dash Pass allows you to bypass traffic and enter through the special Dash Pass lane.
Limo Dash Pass - Bypass the traffic and use the special Dash Pass Lane with the Limo Dash Pass. Load up your limo (9-16 passengers). Please note: Limos are not provided by the facility; guests must arrange their own transportation.
Bus Dash Pass - Ideal for large groups! The Bus Dash Pass allows vehicles holding 17+ passengers to skip the line using the special Dash Pass lane. Please note: Buses are not provided by the facility; guests must arrange their own transportation.

CCMA winners, and beloved Canadian country superstars George Canyon and Aaron Pritchett unite for their coast to coast Cowboy Christmas tour. With countless accolades between them, and over 25 years of hits, the pair will come together to treat fans to some of their own chart topping songs, as well as some all-time favorite Christmas classics. Truly a show not to be missed, in celebration of the Holiday season.
 
GEORGE CANYON  
 
George Canyon rose to becoming one of Canada’s hottest Country Music stars in the early 2000’s and has won countless accolades and awards, including Juno Awards, CCMA Awards, and ECMA Awards to name a few. He has been inducted into the Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame, recorded 12 albums, and was presented a certified Platinum Award for his debut album ‘One Good Friend’. With country iconic hits like Just Like You, I Believe in Angels, Drinkin’ Thinkin’, Daughters of the Sun, I Got This, I Want You To Live, Slow Dance and many, many more, he is also a highly regarded humanitarian, strong supporter of the military, and, most important, a proud father and devoted husband. 
 
Canyon’s tireless work as spokesperson for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and his ongoing support for Canada’s Armed Forces has earned him much National and International recognition. Among them, he was honored with the Humanitarian Award by the Canadian Country Music Association, the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal, and was also made the first ever Colonel Commandant of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets by the Honourable Peter MacKay, former Minister of National Defense.
 
Outside of his music and charitable work, many people might also recognize George for his numerous roles on the big screen. From Charlie Wells in the hit television show Heartland and the head forest ranger in Trailer Park Boys, to Bull Shelton in the Hallmark Channel’s highest-rated original Christmas movie “One Starry Christmas”. George also guest starred on stage in the musical production of Grease in 2018 at the Winter Garden Theatre in Toronto.
 
Among his many identities, Canyon is also a proud Canadian and huge hockey fan, and roots for his team, the Calgary Flames, for which he is in his sixth season singing the national anthem during the home games.
 
George released his new memoir on November 8th, 2022 with Simon & Schuster Canada, titled ‘My Country’ - a heartfelt and candid memoir charting his humble beginnings in rural Nova Scotia, the hard-won success he found under the bright lights of Nashville, Tennessee, and the life lessons learned on and off the road that ultimately led him home.
 
AARON PRITCHETT
 
He’s has been a household name in Canadian Country music for 20 years, but when Aaron Pritchett hits the stage, he does so with the energy and intensity of an artist fresh on the scene. Yet despite being known for his dynamic, even raucous, live shows, it’s the classically country gentleman inside of Pritchett that’s made him a fan favourite - and staying force in Canadian country - for more than two decades.
 
With 13 Top Ten hits under hits under his belt [buckle], Pritchett has made a career of seamlessly moving from good ol’ boy anthems like “Hold My Beer” to pop-tinged party pleasers like “Worth a Shot” to heart-string pulling ballads like “Warm Safe Place”. He could have stopped when he had enough to fill a Greatest Hits album - which he did in 2015 - but instead he followed it up with several more including his 2019 #1 single, “Better When I Do”. Throughout it, Pritchett has racked up more than 30 Juno, CCMA, WCMA and BCCMA nominations including multiple wins for Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and a CCMA SOCAN Songwriter of the Year award.
With his writing, Pritchett continues to push the boundaries of the country genre. And while he refuses to be pigeon-holed, staying grounded in his roots is one thing he insists on.
 
A philanthropist at heart, in 2022 he launched his Annual Big Wheel Charity Golf Classic. The event has raised more than $150,000 to date for community-minded charities.

What does it mean to be part of the in-crowd? In an imaginary letter to her absent older brother, Braidie struggles to understand news stories about the torture and murder of a local teenage girl and how the brutality she sees in the headlines is reflected in her own friend group. Revisiting memories, Braidie tracks her own complicity and participation in the bullying of one girl, and considers what it means to go too far. THE SHAPE OF A GIRL challenges audiences to interrogate their capacity to both help and harm others and to be brave when standing up for what is right.

Chris Funk’s REDEFINING WONDER is an engaging multimedia experience that has audiences talking and scratching their heads for years to come. Finally, a MAGIC SHOW WITH LIVE MUSIC! Chris has pioneered the use of instruments like the violin, guitar, sax and more into his illusions. His parents wanted him to be a musician, but he wanted to be a magician. Chris tells his story on how he integrated his love for music and magic in a show unlike any other. Whether it’s a violin concerto to a magical dancing sheet of music to impossibly suspending various instruments on stage, his show is in a league of its own. The live-feed camera and interactive videos bring audiences up onstage and into the action, delivering a show that family audiences can call their own.
From NBC’s America’s Got Talent, CW’s Penn & Teller: Fool Us & Masters of Illusion, FOX’s Hell’s Kitchen and Syfy’s Wizard Wars, his unique approach to magic has garnered him performances at Las Vegas’ Planet Hollywood, Mandalay Bay, Rio, and Tropicana casinos as well as residencies at Disney. In addition to his own touring, Chris has starred in major touring magic productions Masters of Illusion LIVE. Chris’ show has garnered standing ovations and a reputation for excellence.

Need a kick start to get writing? These drop-in nights will provide you a safe space to write, discuss, and share your work. Each session will include time to work on your own project or follow a freefall writing prompt. For the regular attendees, optional prompts will be given to work on outside of each session.
Please bring a notebook or charged laptop. No writing experience necessary.

Fran has worked an eclectic mix of jobs including youth worker, career counsellor, proposal writer, and a ten-year stint as VP for a career consulting firm. Her short stories have appeared in literary journals from coast to coast, and her plays have been produced for both theatre and radio. Fran has published two novels. The Shore Girl landed on the CBC Top 40-Book List and won the Alberta Reader’s Choice Award. No Good Asking, shortlisted for the 2019 Georges Bugnet and ReLit Awards, has been translated for international markets. Fran’s third novel, Cattail Lane, hit bookshelves in the spring of 2025.

Brave New Writing

After nearly two decades in the music industry, Don Amero finds himself following his heart rather than rebranding. Armed with new material, he's pushing the boundaries of country music by blending Americana, country, soul, and pop. Amero now sees himself working in the service industry, aiming to make music with a purpose. His 2022 EP Nothing Is Meaningless earned a CCMA nomination, and he authored a children's book, These Roots of Love.
His ‘Through The Fire’ podcast, Indigenous advocacy, and mentorship also reflect this attitude of service. Amero plans to release a series of six-song EPs starting in 2025, focusing on personal stories and various sonic qualities to let his voice shine. Influenced by a range of genres, from country to hip-hop, Amero is determined to avoid repetition, embrace growth, and create music that feels like freedom, while balancing fatherhood and family life with his evolving artistic journey.

Stephen Olson is a classically-trained guitarist who learned to play Chet Atkins thumb-picking from his Uncle Lyndy. By playing bass and melody lines simultaneously, Stephen can authentically replicate the country and rockabilly sounds of the 1950s. Stephen draws the audiences in with his electric performances and stories from this golden era of music.

We are cultivating a new ethos, culture, and understanding of the purpose and promise of philanthropy in the world,  one in which those doing the work on the ground of creating the world we wish to inhabit and that our hearts know is possible are afforded the dignity and respect they deserve.

We intend to rattle some chains, to create and sustain a community with influence enough to change the process by which philanthropic dollars are allocated, how philanthropic organizations think, encourage those who do things differently, and grow their numbers. We aim to set a new standard and role model for philanthropy, to surface a whole bunch of stuff we haven’t yet imagined, and create new opportunities with the surplus capitalism has created in order to renew and regenerate community from the ground up.
We are capable of making shifts that extend beyond our own limitations and resource the work that is neither flashy or easy.

Buzz Brass bio:
Featuring fresh musical arrangements in a unique repertoire that brilliantly blends classical music and various styles, combined with a strong stage presence that appeals to a wide audience, Buzz Brass is one of the most renowned brass quintets in Canada. Since 2002, the ensemble has presented over 2,000 concerts, reaching more than 500,000 music lovers throughout North America, Europe and China. Last season, 130 concerts were presented throughout Canada, a record-breaking season and a great success for this "top-notch brass quintet" (CBC Music).


Buzz Brass

This four week class will take participants through basic design theories, composition and lighting scenarios along with some technical basics to develop and strengthen foundational skills that will take them beyond point and shoot photography to creating thoughtful and poignant images.
Each week will see a lesson and discussion with an assignment to work on outside of class. Weekly assignments will be shared and critiqued in the final session. Suitable for all skill levels and camera types but for ease of use, digital photography is recommended.
 
Instructor Bio:
Ali developed a love of photography after receiving her first Kodak 110 camera as a child. Shooting countless rolls of film as a kid and young adult amplified her love of photography leading her to eventually pursue photography education. After years of researching and dreaming of different photography programs across Canada, Ali signed up for a six-week Continuing Education class at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.  After one particularly inspiring class, Ali left inspired to pursue a higher education in the medium.
After applying to the Alberta College of Art & Design, now Alberta University of the Arts and completing her first year studies, Ali was accepted into the three-year Photography program. Since graduating from AUArts in 2013 with a Bachelor of Design (Photography) life eventually led her away from working in the photography industry but she has kept her camera close at hand and the lessons learned are ingrained in all she does.

Getting to the David Atkinson Gym:

Griffins Athletics recommends parking the 110 Parkade for a fee and exiting through the third level of the parkade. From there, make your way west through the pedway into the SAMU Building and onto the gym pedway with entrance to the gym seating.
Alternatively, there is parking in the 107 Ave underground parkade or north lot for a fee. From there, follow the signs for the Sport and Wellness Info Desk. Once at the info desk make your way up to the second floor and towards the gym pedway with entrance to the gym seating.

 
Parking:
Paid parking is available throughout the campus. All locations can be found on the MacEwan Parking website. Game day LRT and bus schedules are provided on the Edmonton transit website or through the Transit app.
 
The MacEwan University Griffins have been a member of the Canada West Universities Athletic Association and U SPORTS since 2016. In the history of Griffins Athletics, they have captured over 100 title championships. In 2021, the women’s soccer team captured the Griffins first USPORTS championship title.

You create the world! This workshop will focus on improvised scene work and environment. In your scenes, you will explore your environment in more depth using narration, object work, soundscapes, and more. By the end of this class, you should be able to confidently perform the scariest scene of all; the open scene! Participants can expect to do more scene work than in Level 1.
You will have the opportunity to perform in the Workshop Showcase for friends and family. Performance is encouraged, but not mandatory.

Level 1(Level 2W & 2C can be completed in any order)
