Augtoberfest is the first ever craft beer festival to take place in Stony Plain, AB. Hosted and organized by West Parkland Gas Co-op with 100% of the proceeds being donated to TriCALA. Spend an afternoon or evening sampling quality craft beers by breweries from across Alberta. There will be food trucks as well as a DJ to ensure you have the best time possible, all while getting to #cheerstocharity!
Augtoberfest is an 18+ event. Government issued ID required to enter. Please be sure to bring your ID as failure to do so will result in denied entry.

Welcome to Smithstock 2024 our 2nd Annual Family Camping Festival!
This year we will host a broad range of workshop facilitators, health & wellness modalities, vendors, and family fun for all ages including a bouncy castle, DJ/Karaoke and a Cuban Barbeque Style Pig.

An exciting form of racing that creates a unique community, where racers and their friends, families and fans enjoy a weekend at the track and a chance to get out with others with a passion for racing. But it also means some highly competitive Drag Racing. Fans can see dragsters, cars, trucks, and Junior Dragsters, all of which are competing for prize money and the all-important series points that go toward series championships at the end of the season.
The Bracket Drag Series combined with the NHRA Division 6 regional competition is the weekly series where local sportsman racers vie for year end points championship. Electronics, Non-electronics, Top Eliminator, Cash is King 1/8 Mile, Street Sportsman and Jr. Dragster

Say It Ain’t So Theatre is proud to bring you this heartwarming and funny play written by Canada’s premiere playwright, Norm Foster.  A story about a successful, but reclusive spy novelist who discovers he knows nothing about his maid of 28 years.  She, however, knows everything about him.  This is a love story, social commentary, and a mystery wrapped in witty dialogue and vivid imagery. 

David, a successful novelist with writer's block, has received some devastating news he's kept to himself. Lucy, his housekeeper of twenty-eight years, has her own secret that she's afraid to admit. As Lucy is getting ready to end her shift, David invites her to stay and have a drink, curious about the woman who's been tending to his house all these years. But as the night sets in and the drinks start to flow, secrets reveal themselves, for better or worse.
Say It Ain’t So Theatre began in Edmonton in the 1990s.  One of the founding members, Carla Falk, brought the company to Red Deer in the early 2010s and, along with actors Fred Andersen and Tim Newcomb staged many successful productions of A Bench in the Sun throughout Central Alberta by catering to, and performing, primarily in rural community halls.  After taking a hiatus, Say It Ain’t So is proud to be relaunching with On A First Name Basis.

Carla FalkTheatre has been part of Carla’s life since she was a teenager.  She has appeared on stage in numerous productions for Central Alberta Theatre, Ignition Theatre, and Say It Ain’t So Theatre.  Acting credits away from the stage include commercials, series tv, and independent films.  As artistic director, Carla is pleased to be relaunching Say It Ain’t So Theatre with this fantastic Norm Foster play, On A First Name Basis.
Derek OlinekDerek has had roles in commercials and movies, but most of his acting credits over the last 32 years have been live theatre.  He has appeared on stage with Central Alberta Theatre, Ignition Theatre, Prime Stock, Theatre, and RD Players Breaking Cover series.  He is thrilled to be joining Say It Ain’t So Theatre’s production of Norm Foster’s hilarious and touching On A First Name Basis.

Central Alberta Raceways Aug 9,10 &11 Weekend Pass

The Pan Continental Curling Championships will take place at the Gary Moe Auto Group Sportsplex and the Lacombe Curling Club in Lacombe, Alberta, Canada. The championships are for men’s and women’s teams from World Curling’s Americas and Pacific-Asia zones and is used as a qualification event for the World Men’s and World Women’s championships. The Gary Moe Auto Group Sportsplex will hold the competitions of the A-Division, while the Lacombe Curling Club will host the B-Division events.

Our drag strip will be open for all JB's Power Center Street Legal racers featuring a 1/8 mile Heavy Hitters lane, and the Spec-D Drifting Team will be tearing up the road course. The Dirt Super Nationals are back at RAD Torque Raceway with the Hobby Stocks and Mini Stocks taking centre stage for a special two-day Dirt Nationals purse! As well as the Hobby Stocks and Mini Stocks, the Super Stocks will make their only appearance of the season. Rounding out the weekend will be the Late Models and 600 Mini Sprints.

Founded by Ed Durocher, Apollo Suns is a 7-piece instrumental collective from Winnipeg, Manitoba. The band fuses the influence of jazz, rock and psychedelic music, to create their own unique sounds with the dancefloor in mind. They have self-released three EPs: ‘Each Day a Different Sun’ (2017), ‘Dawn Offerings’ (2019), ‘A Relationship of Force’ (Color Red, 2021), and were awarded “Instrumental Artist of the Year” at Western Canadian Music Awards in both 2018/2020.
In 2022, Apollo Suns returned to the studio with Juno award-winning producer Ben Kaplan (Five Alarm Funk, Mother Mother, The Rare Americans) to record their latest album, ‘Departures’. Think prohibition hidden club charm, a sweet cosmopolitan, maybe even that scene in Moulin Rouge where they drink absinthe and have weird visions.
Join us for drag, burlesque, and art of all kinds in a space where all queer folks can thrive. Let us embrace some camp and glamour as we let queer joy reign.

One entry ($60) gets you a team of no less than 2 players, and no more than 4. It will be a round robin tournament, followed by elimination playoffs to crown the champion. We encourage team names, uniforms, etc. Have some fun with it and get your group out of the business for a few hours, and maybe even earn the bragging rights of being crowned the 2nd Annual Conrhole Champions. Blindman will be offering a beer tub (with non-alcoholic offerings) and Greenhouse will have the BBQ fired up, with $2 from each purchase also going to support ITW! We ask that you only sign up one team per restaurant for now. If we can accommodate more teams in the days ahead we will open more spots.
