Fans who renew/purchase their season tickets by May 18, 2024, by the end of the 7th inning of the UTRGV vs. Sacramento State game, will be entered to win a suite for one game during the 2025 season.
Fans who renew/purchase their season tickets by June 14, 2024, will receive a season ticket holders recognition at a game during the 2025 season.
Fans who renew/purchase their season tickets by July 12, 2024, will receive an invitation to watch batting practice in the dugout for one game throughout the 2025 season.
Fans who renew/purchase their season tickets by August 16, 2024, will receive a popcorn card for free popcorn at every home game.
Fans who renew/purchase their season tickets by September 20, 2024, will receive additional complimentary tickets (equal to the number of season tickets purchased) to our game against Incarnate Word in April.
Fans who renew/purchase their season tickets by October 25, 2024, will receive an autographed card of the UTRGV baseball head coach, Coach Derek Matlock.

The Second City is a renowned comedy club, theater, and school of improvisation with locations in Chicago, Toronto, and New York. It was founded in 1959 and began as a small comedy cabaret. Over the years, it has grown to become a pioneer in improv and comedy. The Second City collaborates with various partners, including corporate clients, wellness programs, and TV/film productions and their impressive alumni list includes some of the funniest names in the entertainment industry.

Half Season Baseball Mini-Plan

Unwound: A Tribute to George Strait, is coming BACK to The Texan in Athens on Saturday, May 17th! The lead singer, Kolton Sparks, is from Athens! Wear your best dancing boots because you’re going to need them when Kolton takes the stage with his band members. This popular DFW band will be playing George's hits along with covers of a few outlaw country artists. This is a full production and professional band that will bring you the sounds of the King himself with a steel guitar, keyboard and fiddle player.
Get ready for a fun night full of great music and dancing! Doors will open at 6:00pm, and the band plays from 7:00-9:00pm. Smoky B Barbecue and Bar will be open beginning at 6pm. Tickets are $25-30 (plus credit card fee) and can be purchased online or at the door with cash or card.

Concert: Unwound - George Strait Tribute Band

After a local woman is murdered, the guests and staff at Monkswell Manor find themselves stranded during a snowstorm. It soon becomes clear that the killer is among them, and the seven strangers grow increasingly suspicious of one another. A police detective, arriving on skis, interrogates the suspects: the newlyweds running the house&semi a spinster with a curious background&semi an architect who seems better equipped to be a chef&semi a retired Army major&semi a strange little man who claims his car has overturned in a drift&semi and a jurist who makes life miserable for everyone. When a second murder takes place, tensions and fears escalate.

Unleash your creativity and curiosity in our Introductory Taxidermy Class hosted by The Sleeping Sirens! Designed for beginners, this hands-on course offers a fascinating glimpse into the art and science of taxidermy. 
What to Expect:
Class begins promptly at 10am and ends at 4pm. 
We provide each student with either a skinned, cleaned, and tanned racoon or rabbit hide depending on the workshop you are taking. 
The first half of class is focused on preparing your form, setting the eyes, test fitting and mounting the hide, as well as grooming. 
After our first 30-minute break class shifts towards base preparation and mounting your project.

Each year our producers Dwayne and Lisa Jackson choose a special show they want the community to experience. 2024’s Showcase was The Play That Goes Wrong. 2025’s Titanic is special as the cast finally got the 2020 version on the stage after 3 attempts to a very limited audience during our Covid year. Patrons and actors alike have been anxious to re-stage this beautiful story for our entire community to enjoy. 
 
The sinking of the Titanic in the early hours of April 15, 1912, remains the quintessential disaster of the twentieth century. A total of 1,517 souls—men, women and children—lost their lives (only 711 survived). The fact that the finest, largest, strongest ship in the world—called, in fact, the "unsinkable" ship—should have been lost during its maiden voyage is so incredible that, had it not actually happened, no author would have dared to contrive it.
But the catastrophe had social ramifications that went far beyond that night's events. For the first time since the beginning of the industrial revolution early in the 19th Century, bigger, faster and stronger did not prove automatically to be better. Suddenly the very essence of "progress" had to be questioned&semi might the advancement of technology not always be progress?
Nor was this the only question arising from the disaster. The accommodations of the ship, divided into 1st, 2nd and 3rd Classes, mirrored almost exactly the class structure (upper, middle and lower) of the English-speaking world. But when the wide discrepancy between the number of survivors from each of the ship's classes was revealed—all but two of the women in 1st Class were saved while 155 women and children from 2nd and 3rd (mostly 3rd) drowned—there was a new, long-overdue scrutiny of the prevailing social system and its values.
It is not an exaggeration to state that the 19th Century, with its social stricture, its extravagant codes of honor and sacrifice, and its unswerving belief that God favored the rich, ended that night.
The musical play Titanic examines the causes, the conditions and the characters involved in this ever-fascinating drama. This is the factual story of that ship—of her officers, crew and passengers, to be sure—but she will not, as has happened so many times before, serve as merely the background against which fictional, melodramatic narratives are recounted. The central character of our Titanic is the Titanic herself.
