🌟International Women’s Day Gala 2020 🌟

At YWiB UBC we believe that as women, we are the catalyst of a cultural movement towards social good. On International Women’s Day, and every day after, let us celebrate the voices, stories, and impact of women at every intersection of identity in both our lives and the world at large. We will celebrate those who dare to break barriers, disrupt unjust systems, and think outside the box to build a more inclusive society. This year’s theme is “#HERtime”. At YWiB, we believe women can be anything they want, they have the right to explore wildly, be ambitious, and be heroic. 2020 is our decade to accelerate women’s equality!

To demonstrate this, we have partnered with One Girl Can, a Vancouver-based charity working to break the cycle of poverty and impact gender equality through education and mentorship. With your help, we will support female education, progression, and leadership. As a community, we hope to come together on International Women’s Day and raise money to help young girls complete their education and gain meaningful careers. Investing in girls’ education improves economic growth, provides a path out of poverty, and according to the Brookings Institute is the most cost-effective way to combat climate change. Help us support One Girl Can and create a global impact. Now is #HERTime.
