Calgary Youth Moonshot Summit

The Calgary Youth Moonshot Summit is a modern-day career fair designed to help students understand the innovations transforming industries, and how to position themselves to thrive within them.

This one-day experience brings together leaders from frontier technology, business, and economic development to explore how breakthroughs in AI, advanced manufacturing, fintech, climate technology, and emerging industries are reshaping the future of work.

Students will hear directly from operators and innovators building at the edge of possibility, including Alexandra Ramadan from Google X (The Moonshot Factory), who will be joining us in-person to share how world-changing ideas move from concept to reality.

The event is hosted by TKS, and is proudly supported by Interac and Hunter Hub at UofC, reinforcing our shared commitment to developing Calgary’s next generation of future-ready leaders.

Throughout the day, students will participate in:

• Curated keynote sessions on breakthrough innovation

• Fireside conversations with builders and operators

• Panels focused on emerging industries and workforce evolution

• Structured networking with ecosystem leaders

There will be booths set-up for startups in Calgary so students can check out what companies in our city are building, and how they can get involved.

Live Moonshot Pitch Competition

The highlight of the Summit is a live pitch competition featuring 10 of Calgary’s most ambitious student teams. Each team will deliver a five-minute “moonshot” presentation, outlining bold solutions to global challenges.

A panel of industry judges will evaluate teams based on originality, feasibility, long-term impact, and clarity of execution. Top teams will be recognized on stage.
