CLAIRE SICHERMAN and NICOLE BREIT* /Bloom: Letters on Girlhood
Over the course of two and a half years, authors Claire Sicherman and Nicole Breit exchanged letters chronicling their coming-of age in the suburbs of late 1980s Vancouver. With unflinching honesty and insight, Bloom is a candid memoir-in-letters exploring the awkwardness and confusion of adolescence, how societal expectations shape identity, and how we can continue, at any age, to release the past.
CLAIRE SICHERMAN is a facilitator, speaker, and trauma-informed somatic writing coach, the author
of Imprint: A Memoir of Trauma in the Third Generation.
NICOLE BREIT* (not appearing) is a queer award-winning essayist and writing coach in Gibsons.
DANILA BOTHA / A Place for People Like Us: A Novel
When Hannah meets Jillian, their connection is instant and addictive. They're both unique and talented Jewish women in their 20’s, but equally adrift in trying to determine and pursue their goals.
A fast-paced but poignant and moving novel - at times thriller and romance - this is an insightful exploration of friendship and identity, Judaism and cults, and hypocrisy and family.
DANILA BOTHA is the critically acclaimed author of three short story collections and a previous
novel, Too Much on the Inside. She teaches Creative Writing at the University of Toronto and at
Humber School for Writers.
