You Can't Take It With You

The Vanderhofs live “just around the corner from Columbia University—but don’t go looking for it”, and Grandpa, as Martin Vanderhof is known, is the head of a family of individualists, including an amateur fireworks expert, a self-proclaimed playwright, and Alice, who though loving, is embarrassed by her family’s eccentricities. When Alice falls in love with Tony, her Wall Street boss’ son, she worries that their families—so different in manner, politics, and finances—will never come together. She invites Tony’s family for dinner to see, but what happens when they show up an evening too early?
