YANNICK

In the middle of a performance of a very bad community theatre production of the play "Le Cocu" (The Cuckold), Yannick, an unhappy spectator, gets up and interrupts the show to take the evening back into his own hands.

CUFF favourite Quentin Dupieux (DEERSKIN, RUBBER) returns to the festival with a dark comedy that explores the audience's part in the creation of art with the director's keen eye and trademark wit. In a show-stealing performance, Raphaël Quenard, who made his feature debut in Dupieux’s SMOKING CAUSES COUGHING, stars as the working-class security guard, who believes he has the right to express himself: he tells the Thespians that their play sucks and then takes action. YANNICK, one of two movies Dupieux released in 2023, is an absurdist farce that will keep you guessing until its thrilling conclusion.
