Description

Yankl and the Beanstalk is the Jewish pantomime you’ve been waiting for!

Yankl and the Beanstalk takes audiences to the Jewish immigrant communities of East London in the 1890s, into the Daisy Pickle workshop. Yankl finds himself in a bit of a pickle as his cousin Milly wants them to go on strike. With his Bar Mitzva just days away, Yankl needs to work on his parasha, help his cousin try to improve their working conditions, and not get in a pickle! With the help of some magic beans, a pickle fairy, and some popular songs translated into Yiddish, this duo will find a way to stop the Giant and seize the means of production.

This hilariously queer Jewish panto is a saucy delight, full of jokes that will thrill everyone at the all-ages performance. Please note this performance has general admission seating, this means that you can sit where ever you want.

Chutzpah! is excited to welcome back Tamara Micner’s panto that was originally introduced to audiences in 2022 as a work-in-progress.

This performance is generously sponsored by The Hamber Foundation and the Beech Foundation.
