Intro to Directing with Kathryn Smith
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
As a director, how do you get your vision from page, to rehearsal, to being in front of an audience? How do you communicate all that to a full team of artists?
In this day long workshop, you will gain fundamental tools in directing for the stage: how to communicate with actors and designers; early stages of planning a show; how to direct in a way that is collaborative but concise. Professional director Kathryn Smith will facilitate this workshop and celebrate the art directing – especially the challenging parts!
*This workshop is intended for anyone interested in directing. No prior directing experience is required.
*This workshop is for ages 18+
