Jared and the Social Worker (Vancouver) // https://https://www.facebook.com/JATSWorker

What started as a project to “put down some ideas”, and “play a few shows”, has turned into a musical expression of the plights and tragedies of anyone that has ever felt like the world was against them. Has ever felt that their lives were cursed. Has ever left unlucky, unprotected, or unloved.

The music of Jared and the Social Worker consists of poetry and lyric put to song and music about things that matter to themselves as well as the less fortunate, the downtrodden, and despondent.

These songs were written for the lowly of heart, the faint of spirit, and the needy of fate.

Jared the lead singer, and a songwriter of the band, takes much of his reflection from his own life’s past tragedies. Details are better saved for a longer conversation, but for Jared, his life by the age of 15 saw much tragedy and contretemps. Domestic violence, divorce, years of child molestation, death of grandparents, and truly culminating in the death of his mother. These events were only made exigent and surmountable by one very endearing thing throughout his young life.

That “thing” is LOVE.

That love is the one item that Jared and the Social Worker can give back to listeners, friends, fans and family. Love is free. Hugs are free. A listening and caring ear is free. Compassion is free. Service is free. Jared and the band give back what we have all been given. In as much as we were given, we will give back ten fold.
The love and caring and support from so many people in his life, is as much a part of the music created by Jared and the Social Worker as the inspiration for the songs. Everyone that gives support to the band has become an honorary Social Worker, a jatsWorker. Every fan or listener gets something different from the music, but everyone is sent the same love that they need or want.

This music is loud. This music is rock. It is loving for others and just downright metal at some other times.

Enjoy what you can. Share what you can’t.

Hate our music like it’s covered.
Hate our faces in other words.
love our faces and hate our guts.
love our humour and love our butts.

That rhymes.
Love Jared, Chris, Isaac, Mike
