Description
WIFF is an Indigenous film festival on Manitoulin Island. The festival was founded by Dr. Shirley Cheechoo and is Manitoulin Island's first and only film festival. The festival prioritizes people whose voices have historically been marginalized and whose stories are under-told, if ever told.
For the last two years, WIFF has been completely virtual. We are very excited as this year's festival will be in person on Manitoulin Island. This year, WIFF 2022’s theme is Write from the Womb, showcasing women, non-binary and two-spirit artists and supporting emerging filmmakers.
WIFF runs from July 8-10, 2022 at the Four Directions Complex in Aundeck Omni Kaning on Manitoulin Island, ON. This fun filled weekend includes screenings of feature and short films, live music performances, workshops and Q&A's from industry-led professionals and more.
