Description

Who Wants to Be Decolonized? is a satirical Indigenous-themed stand-up comedy game show that parodies Who Wants to Be a Millionaire—except instead of winning money, contestants try to “decolonize” themselves in increasingly funny, uncomfortable, and eye-opening ways.

The show uses the familiar game-show format (host, multiple-choice questions, dramatic pauses) as a comedic trap.

Audiences think they’re watching a quiz show, but it quickly becomes a roast of colonial history, cultural ignorance, performative allyship, and the myths people were taught in school. The humour is sharp, playful, and rooted in Indigenous perspectives.

Your Host, the original princess: Brenda Prince

This show is presented as part of the Little Weird Weekend Festival, and will be presented in the Raccoon Room (Second floor).

This show is produced and curated under a rental model, independent of Little Mountain Gallery. If you have questions or comments on this performance please contact the producer at brendaprince1999@gmail.com

Accessibility

Please note that the venue has two separate spaces, upstairs and downstairs. All show listings should indicate which room they’re in on the description. Please ensure you note the location as both spaces do not have the same level of accessibility.

The front entrance has power assisted doors.

There’s a powered lift from street level to the main performance space. For more information on the limitations of our lift, please check out our website.

The venue has six private washrooms on the main floor, one of which is fully accessible with a power assisted door. The theatre doors to the main space are not power assisted at this time. The second floor is not accessible and is up two flights of stairs.

We encourage patrons requiring wheelchair seating message us ahead of performances so we can arrange seating at niki@littlemountaingallery.ca
