July 5 – 7 | Whistler Olympic Plaza, Whistler
Presented by Arts Whistler, the Whistler Children’s Festival is back for its 36th year and is filled to the brim with arts and crafts, storytellers, puppet shows, dance parties, circus acts, face painting and internationally acclaimed children’s performers. It’s a chance to free your imagination and explore creativity… unplugged.
Friday, July 5, 2019 | 4-7pm | Whistler Olympic Plaza, Whistler
The action kicks off with a free dance party, hosted by a Whistler family favourite, DJ Ira. It’s free to join, so wear your favourite PJ’s and be sure to bring your groove! Between dancing to DJ Ira, laugh with ventriloquist Kellie Haines and sing along with Smilin’ Rylan.
Saturday, July 6 | 10am-4pm | Whistler Olympic Plaza, Whistler
Whistler Olympic Plaza turns into a playground of imagination, music, crafts and circus fun. Circus West performs a breathtaking circus skills show, Fireflight: A Supernatural Circus. At the Make-It Tent kids explore their imagination… unplugged, with crafts that spark the whole family’s creativity.
July 7 | 10am-4pm | Whistler Olympic Plaza, Whistler
Sunday brings a fresh day of fun, new crafts to try and plenty to explore in the activity tents and musical playground. On the mainstage, DJ Ira starts the day with a dance-off and five-time JUNO-nominated kids performers Bobs and LoLo bring their hugely popular music and hijinks to the festival finale.
There are so many crazy characters to meet at festival, like the Roaming Diva with her eclectic mix of songs and the Ta-Daa Lady with engaging stories complete with costumes for a story parade at the end of each tale! The festival also includes activity favourites like face painting, balloon art, activity booths and art stations to round out a weekend of family fun.
The Make-It Tent is a fun, creative place for kids and families to let their imaginations run wild! The tent offers a wide variety of hands-on arts and crafts for parents and caregivers to do with your kids. Crafts are aimed at ages 3–10 and the festival provides all the materials you need—just add your imaginations.
Fun Tickets are needed “to get your craft on”, which are then exchanged for different activities in the Make-It Tent. Each activity has its own Fun Ticket pricing, with crafts from one ticket ($5) to three tickets ($15). Fun tickets can be bought ahead of time online and picked up at Will Call at the festival entrance, and they’re also available on site each day — super easy!
1 Fun ticket = $5 | 5 Fun Tickets = $20 (get 1 free!)
$10/day: Kids 3-10 years-old | Free: Toddlers, kids 11+ and adults. Basically, your kids get to bring you!
