Clare McConnell is a Canadian Screen Award nominated actor and comedian best known for portraying 'Effie Newsome' on the popular CBC series Murdoch Mysteries, Regina Simcoe on Slasher,  Carrie in Fingernails, and Klingon Leader 'Dennas' on the Paramount+ series Star Trek: Discovery. She voices Iana in Ubisoft’s Rainbow 6: Siege and Clarice in Supermassive Games’ House of Ashes.She is also a Canadian Comedy Award nominated alumna of the Second City Mainstage.

Weird Al Karaoke Greatest Hits

Weird Al Karaoke is a monthly musical comedy show that has been performed in Edmonton since 2015, when the idea was unceremoniously stolen from Glenn Macauley of Toronto.

Every month, local comedians perform ORIGINAL comedy parodies of songs you know and love. Over the last 9 years, our performers have written over 500 original parodies! That’s a lot of parodies, folks.

Mike Robertson

He is an accomplished improvisor, standup comedian and sketch performer. He has performed improv with Rapid Fire Theatre in Edmonton since 2003.

His sketch comedy troupe Marv n’ Berry has performed all over North America since 2015, touring places from New Orleans to Vancouver.  They recently created a series of Edmonton-themed sketches in collaboration with CBC Comedy, and performed at San Francisco Sketchfest.

In his stand-up comedy days, he opened for Neil Hamburger, Maria Bamford, Tig Notaro, and Kevin McDonald (Kids in the Hall), Kurt Braunohler and Brody Stevens, among others.

He co-hosts Weird Al Karaoke at the Grindstone Theatre in Edmonton, a monthly show where anyone can perform their own original song parodies live over karaoke tracks in front of an enthusiastic audience.
