Way Out There
In 1986, White Rock, BC resident Mitchell Drumel mysteriously disappeared without a trace, leaving his wife, Diane, and kids, Megan and Jason, reeling and confused. His car was found by the side of the highway with his keys and wallet left on the seat. Extensive police investigation came up empty. Now a cold case, Mr. Drumel’s disappearance still puzzles the town.
Seven years later, Jason hears an obscure radio show suggesting that his dad was abducted to another planet through a portal in the giant white rock that lies on the town beach.
Soon we will all learn the real truth about the disappearance of Mitchell Drumel. It’s a truth so impossible, so out there, that it may just be the only explanation…
Way Out There is an exciting, genre-bending new musical about the mysterious and unexplained. Set in the Pacific Northwest in the 1990s, its musical influences include alternative rock bands like Radiohead, No Doubt and Smashing Pumpkins.
Music Direction by Jonathan Corkal-Astorga, Set & Costume Design by Shannon Lea Doyle, Lighting Design by Frank Donato, Sound Design by Adrian Shepherd-Gawinski
