Raja Mita
Raja has been working at the intersection of health, strategy and technology for more than 15 years. Throughout his career, he has been successful in building cross-sectoral partnerships between industry, academia and government that accelerate health innovation to market. He currently serves as executive director of Health at Alberta Innovates, where he leads the development and management of the organization’s digital health innovation strategy. In this role, Raja and his team are responsible for supporting the integration of emerging technologies into health research and care delivery to achieve both health and economic outcomes for Alberta.Space is limited so RSVP today to secure your place at this evening of incredible technology.
Susan Spotted Bull
Susan is a Project Manager at Untethered Technologies, an Indigenous owned technology company in Calgary. Su and her team decided to explore the ways that they could incorporate Indigenous languages and stories into augmented and virtual reality experiences that invite people to have fun, learn, and gain a great understanding of Indigenous peoples. At Untethered Technologies, Su and her team use XR to tell authentic Indigenous stories and decolonize the technological landscape.
Dr. Farzan Baradaran Rahimi
Dr. Baradaran Rahimi brings over 15 years of expertise in teaching, research, and design, where he has actively collaborated with both academic institutions as well as community and industry partners. His work is driven by a passion for creating immersive and impactful learning experiences, and his contributions to the field have earned him recognition as a nominee for the Canada Research Chair in Immersive Learning. Through innovative strategies and the application of emerging technologies, Dr. Rahimi seeks to transform educational approaches in both formal and informal educational settings. His research emphasizes interactive, engaging, and experiential learning, aiming to enhance how people connect with and absorb knowledge. Throughout his career, Dr. Rahimi has played a key role in multiple award-winning interdisciplinary projects that bridge various fields and domains such as art, design, computer science, learning sciences, museum studies, game studies, and archeology. His research findings and project outcomes have been widely disseminated through publications in leading journals and presentations at respected conferences around the world. His work continues to shape the future of immersive learning, influencing both theory and practice across various fields.
This event is a part of the Sim Expo — Canada’s premier gathering of simulation enthusiasts. Sim Expo is a multidisciplinary conference, which hosts everyone from the simulation community from a variety of professions—including clinicians, researchers, and educators.
