VOICES OF THE WILDWOOD: A Celebration of Appalachian Roots and Country Spirit
The Carillon Singers invite you to a heartfelt journey through the musical soul of the Appalachian Mountains. Joined by special guests, The Dogies, this one-of-a-kind performance will delight with a selection of songs rooted in the Appalachian music tradition as it evolved into the beloved genres of bluegrass and country.
Dust off your cowboy boots and your finest denim for an afternoon of authentic charm with soaring harmonies and foot-stomping rhythms. There will be prizes for best western attire! Doors will open at 3:30pm and bar service is available.
Don’t miss this vibrant tribute to tradition, and the enduring sweet mountain harmonies of the wildwood with The Carillons and The Dogies!
Tickets are $25, $15 for students, available online, at Chediac Furniture in New Glasgow, at Curious Crows Coffee in Stellarton or at the door.
About the Artists:
The Carillon Singers are a choral ensemble of female musicians from Pictou County under the direction of Vivi Chediac and pianist Karen Crowley. Their diverse repertoire offers a unique program with each performance.
The Dogies (pronounced “dough-jees”), feature Paul Tupper, Tanner MacDonald, Ian Kamp and John Muirhead. They perform a lively mix of 90s and traditional country music with toe-tapping instrumentals on banjo, guitar, fiddle and keys.
