Description
View from the Inside: Courage Journey is a puppetry-based workshop that encourages discussion about mental wellness. Through the creation, exhibition and performance of a self-reflective mask-body puppet, participants develop community, foster resiliency and gain a voice for their stories.
WP Puppet Theatre has recently facilitated View from the Inside with diverse senior groups in Calgary with inspiring results. During this two – morning intensive workshop, attendees will make their own puppet and learn about the work WPTS is doing with people living their third act!
An excellent professional development opportunity for all helping professionals - therapists, teachers, social workers, as well as a fun and creative self-care, "me – time", workshop for anyone.
The workshop will take place on Saturday and Sunday (June 8 & 9) mornings from 9:30am to 12:30pm in the Glenbow Museum's Morris Shumiatcher Room (3rd floor).
A slide show of the created artwork will be screened as part of the Sunday night screening (7:30pm) of the THIRD ACTion Film Festival.
This workshop includes 2 complimentary tickets to THIRD ACTion Film Festival's screenings.
