Voices in the Art (VIA) Workshops: Create, Express, Be Heard

Are you...

• Between the ages 14 - 24?
• A newcomer (living in Canada for < 10 years with the intention to settle permanently)?
• Someone who identifies as 2SLGBTQIA+, or exploring your gender identity and/or sexual orientation?
• Comfortable discussing your experiences in English?

Attend our 3 workshops to share your experiences, meet other newcomer 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, and create artwork together!

• Topics covered:
  • Day 1: Newcomer Experiences
  • Day 2: Understanding Gender-Based Violence
  • Day 3: Navigating Intersecting Identities

If you attend all 3-days, you will receive $150 via e-transfer as a thank you.

• Can’t make it all 3 days? No worries, you can still get $50 per workshop you attend!

We are running two in-person workshop cohorts:

• Cohort 1:
  • August 4, 5, 6, 2026 (6pm - 8pm)
• Cohort 2:
  • August 18, 19, 20, 2026 (6pm - 8pm)
