Description

This yoga class is designed for you to take a moment to yourself. This is the time to witness the self, drink water, and breathe.

All bodies are welcome.

All movement abilities are welcome.

This practice is for you, meaning everything is an invitation, everything is optional. There is no expectation to look or perform a certain way. The movement will be slow and simple, working on cultivating mindfulness. We will test our edges without crossing them. We will invite inquisition and play. All marginalized bodies experience trauma in being, all trauma is stored in the body. This is a moment to look inward and create a space for you, a space to call in joy, to invite in self-love, to be with community. This is a moment to let go of the things that don't serve us, through movement.

Please bring your own water bottle, wear comfy clothing that you feel safe moving in, and bring either a yoga mat, large towel or blanket to stretch on.

About the facilitator:

Franz is a creator of space. She aims to help people find genuine connections to themselves and each other. Franz is an observer of the human condition, writer, arts community advocate, workshop facilitator, performer, and yoga teacher. She wants to hold joy close; to lead with love. This is a reminder to breathe.

This event is presented in partnership with Lululemon.

All Vancouver Pride events take place on unceded, occupied, traditional and ancestral territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw {Squamish), and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. We realize that the work we are able to do could not happen without the wisdom and intelligence of the two-spirit people and organizations that have taught us, stuck with us, and led us through organizational changes to better serve our LGBTQAI2S+ communities. We hold our hands up to thank them for their brilliance, resilience, patience and strength.
