UTICA: THE LAST REFUGE

A family of refugees from Sudan lands in cold, upstate New York just as an administration hostile to immigrants takes over. The tensions resulting from rapidly changing U.S. refugee policies give the refugee center overseeing their resettlement its own struggles.
Utica: The Last Refuge follows two newly arrived families trying to acclimate to their new home. Approximately 25% of Utica is now home to refugees and their children. As many experts and politicians attest, the influx is helping, not hurting, the struggling rustbelt city.
