Uncharted Retreat with Barb P. Marchand and Ankaret Dean

We are excited to offer our first ever Artist Retreat at Lake Country ARTHouse. In this retreat we are privileged to learn with elders and artists Barb P. Marchand and Ankaret Dean.  We begin on Friday at 3pm with an exclusive tour of the Uncharted Territory Exhibition at the Lake Country Art Gallery on it’s opening day.  Having been inspired by the exhibition we shall drink tea and share ideas on how we will collectively respond, in what materials and which techniques we will use, and how we will celebrate this work publicly. SIGN UP BY July 6th.

On Saturday and Sunday 9-12

• We shall respond with artmaking.   
• We will play and be imaginative. 

Ankaret and Barb are experts at expressing their voices through art, as we shall ours in this retreat - collectively.  We will surprise ourselves on this uncharted journey.  We are hopeful that we will be able to share this work publicly at the ArtHouse the following week.

Friday July 9

Visit the Unchartered Territory exhibit (after public hours), meet each other, drink tea.

Saturday July 10 

9 - 12 am

Playing with medium of our choice

Please bring your sketchbook, some drawing utensils, wear comfy clothes, water bottle and snacks each day.

Relevant COVID protocols and PHO will be followed for this retreat, those registered will be informed of any updates as they become available. All attendees must complete a Covid-19 safety check the day of this event before they attend. Click here for details: Covid Self-Assessment.
