Description
Walk Leader: Lindsay Mallette, with the Edmonton City as a Museum Project
Date & Time: Saturday, May 3, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm Approx 2 hours & 3 km. Description: This tour explores the history of Ukrainian immigrants in the early 20th Century to McCauley and what drew them to the area. It focusses on the continued prevalance of Ukrainian cultural instituitions and churches in the community. Notable historical and contemporary cultural figures will be showcased through community stories. This is a sensory-driven tour and has participants use all their senses to experience the neighbourhood! Accessibility: The walk will follow sidewalks for the route. The start and finish are accessible by transit and bike. Free street parking is available.
