ABOUT THE SHOWS
Please note: NJF JAZZ 4 the AGES youth performers will be the opening acts for these performance dates.
November 7 - MOSAIC is the eponymous debut release from a new jazz quartet performing a program of original compositions recorded ‘live’ at two concerts in Germany. The album is co-produced by veteran Toronto drummer Terry Clarke and German vibraharpist Stefan Bauer, and MOSAIC will launch it via shows at Toronto's Jazz Bistro (Oct. 4 and 5), right here in Niagara @ The Hare Winery (Oct. 7), Hirut in Toronto (Oct. 8) and The Jazz Room in Kitchener/Waterloo (Nov. 6).
“What you will hear during the concert amounts to four generations of jazz players who had never met or played together previously – until this magical meeting of four like minds from all over the world, a ‘Mosaic’ if you will, of new friends talking to one another in this amazing universal language of jazz, and in doing so, discovering ‘the art of imperfection’ ... and the pure joy of being.” (Terry Clarke)
MOSAIC features:
Terry Clarke on Drums
Matthew Halpin on Tenor Saxophone
Matthias Akeo Nowak on Bass
Stefan Bauer on Vibraharp

Their passion for Bossa Nova music is evident in every performance they give, striving to honour the legacy created by Astrud Gilberto, Joao Gilberto, Antonio Carlos Jobim and others, staying true to this unique style, as well as presenting their own take on this music.
