Quantum Council (Vancouver) // soundcloud.com/lee_merrick

An indie rock band from Vancouver BC, that is breaking the mold by combining Indie rock, and Hip-hop with a focus on the Stars that tie us all together.

China Syndrome (Vancouver) // www.chinasyndromeband.com

China Syndrome is a rockin' melodic power pop band from Vancouver who combine the driving pop hooks of Teenage Fanclub and XTC with liberal dollops of classic rock influences. The band has just released their fourth album, Hide in Plain Sight, which, like their previous three, was recorded and produced at Vancouver's JC/DC Studio by David Carswell (The New Pornographers, Tegan & Sara, Destroyer, Adrian Teacher and the Subs, The Ford Pier Vengeance Trio). The new album plays to China Syndrome's strengths: great musicianship and arrangements, memorable songs and thoughtful lyrics. The band will be actively promoting the album over the rest of 2018 and through 2019. The Georgia Straight praised China Syndrome's 2015 album, The Usual Angst, as “infectiously jangly” with “fantastic, hooky guitar,” and asserting it is “one of the most enjoyable albums to come out of Vancouver this century.” The Province named The Usual Angst “CD of the Week,” while The Vancouver Sun called it “Album of the Week,” stating “The Usual Angst is an infectious batch of rock. Each song has its own identity, blending modern and retro elements, and the production makes the music feel like a breath of fresh air.”
