Description
Chinook Musical Society presents nine "Saturday Night Special" concerts every year, featuring a range of genres from folk and country, to blues, Celtic and folk rock. While we do present acts from all over North America, and some international, we are especially proud to showcase our Canadian and local Alberta artists.
The evening starts with one set from our opening artist, followed by two sets from our headliner.
On January 10, 2026, we are so pleased to welcome singer, songwriter, veteran soldier, and gifted storyteller, Tim Isberg back to our Saturday Night Special stage with an opening set from Mallory Chipman!
Tim Isberg will be presenting his highly acclaimed Prairie Fire show that explores our fascinating western history. Through his artful storytelling Tim not only entertains, but also educates, offering a melodious journey through our nation’s formative years, breathing life into the captivating tales of events and characters of the 19th century, Canadian prairies, and the western plains… each song is a window into the lives of those who shaped the Canadian West.
Tim's solid guitar rhythms and ear-catching songs create a style of his own where listeners can escape into the story behind the song. “Prairie Fire is a masterpiece in storytelling through song…I feel as though I’ve been on a journey and want to find out more!” Stevie Connor, The Sound Café
