(with accompanying pieces by Michael Crummey, The Rooms & Terri Andrews)
Director: Terri Andrews
Musical Director: Anne Whelan
Instrumental Director: Todd Snelgrove

STORYLINE: Blackmore’s play details the history of the community, from its heyday as a pirate haven in
the early seventeenth century, through the mercantile boom years of the nineteenth, to its struggles in
the last century—notably the ‘Great Fire’ of 1944. The community’s historic characters are highlighted
through acting and original music for the stage, including Robert Hayman, the continent’s first English
poet; Peter Easton, pirate rogue; John Munn, possibly Newfoundland’s most powerful merchant; and
Amelia Earhart, aviator and feminist icon, to name but a few
