Description

The film screening of Threads of Time is a community space and conversation that explores Indigenous storytelling, memory, and belonging on Unceded lands. Emerging from relational practices and Indigenous sovereignty, Threads of Time bridges traditional story and digital expression, centering a short film created with the direction of Sḵwx ̱ wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) Dr. Chepximiya Siyam, Dr. Hereditary Chief Janice George and Skwetsimeltxw, Elder Willard “Buddy” Joseph. This is the first in a three-part film series, as we continue working alongside with the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) and səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. The event invites viewers to reflect on land-based histories, relational ethics, and the power of visual storytelling to carry ancestral knowledge forward.
