The Sun Will Rise

MOD Contemporary Dance presents its 16th season showcase, The Sun Will Rise. A reflection on the passing of time — the days that test us, the days that lift us, and the quiet certainty that no matter what unfolds, morning always returns.

MOD is a student-run club at the University of Alberta. Students from all faculties and graduate levels audition each year and come together to rehearse and create. Many members began dancing at a young age, and when they came to university, MOD gave them the opportunity to continue their passion for the art form when they once thought it had come to an end.

As a company, students lead every aspect of the organization, from executive roles to choreography and events throughout the year. As one of the University of Alberta’s longest-standing student dance companies, MOD takes pride in the love, dedication, and positivity its members bring to the greater Edmonton community.

The performance will also feature a silent auction and additional front-of-house activities in support of the company’s continued operations. MOD is pleased to welcome back, as guest performers, the dancers of MacEwan University in Motion.
