Description
Stick Men is an American progressive rock supergroup founded in 2007. The band was formed as a vehicle for
progressive rock music performed almost exclusively with Chapman Sticks and drums. The band consists of Tony
Levin & Pat Mastelotto (most notably from the band King Crimson) with Markus Reuter rounding out the trio, playing his self-designed U8 touch style guitar.
Levin plays the Chapman Stick, from which the band takes its name. Having BOTH bass and guitar strings, the
Chapman Stick functions at times like two instruments. Mastelotto’s drumming encompasses not just the acoustic
kit, but also a unique electronic setup. This allows him to add loops, samples, percussion and more.
Combined, the members of STICK MEN have recorded on albums that have sold over 100 million records
worldwide.
Direct support for STICK MEN finds ‘Steve Morse devotee and tone monger prodigy’ Travis Larson with his prog rock pals 19 Fingers delivering a tasty selection of new and vintage interpretations of jam and prog classics. “Kinda like a ProgJect light” says Drew’s Reviews.
Local band Led Barchetta opens the show with a new progressive twist on some old Led Zeppelin and RUSH favorites.
