Calgary rockers The Plinths hit the legendary King Eddy stage on December 21.
About The Plinths:
The Plinths are a 3 piece rock band from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. They play predominantly Euro, Britpop and Alternative Americana music from the late 70’s through to the early 2000s (“naughties”.) The band is Johnny Favorite (guitar and vocals), Brent Rossall (bass) and Darryl Swart (drums). The Plinths play music from a time before social media and streaming started replacing physical CDs, cassette tapes and vinyl. A time when you had to stand in line to get tickets for shows or your favorite band’s latest release, there were no phones or cameras at gigs and being on the radio, MTV or Much Music was a sign you were making it. Some of the bands they cover include : The Police, Oasis, Radiohead, Sloan and Sam Roberts Band. The Plinths shows will often include surprise guests and collaborations and are always high energy, nostalgic and a party where you can hear the inspiration behind the music on the charts today and reminisce about the past.
Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.
