Description
Jump on the Ghost Beer Train with the Paul Weber band and spend a night rolling around eastern Ontario and western Quebec learning about things you didn't know existed!
The Paul Weber Band is happy to be releasing their latest album Ghost Beer Train at Red Bird Live, with 11 new songs about eastern Ontario and western Quebec. Following in the footsteps of 2020's Ode to Gerry Barber, the new recording is full of strange stories and lost tales: a buried beer train, a forgotten fantasy park, the Vanier cowboy, a local drag queen, and more.
The new songs reflect folk, rock, jazz and world influences--avec des chansons en anglais et en français. Think a bilingual Stompin' Tom with Bruce Springsteen influences and a touch of Tom Waits.
"Paul Weber's show at the Ottawa Grassroots Festival (May 23 , 2023) was excellent and entertaining. Paul had the audience enthralled with his tales of Ottawa's historical life from ghost trains, to Gerry Barber the infamous bouncer at the Chaudière Club. Paul brings history alive through his songs and stories."
- Ian Tamblyn, Artistic Director, Ottawa Grassroots Festival - 2023
The Paul Weber band is Paul vocals and guitars, Rob Lethbridge upright bass, Camille Forget and Christine Fagan vocals, joined by Kira Montfort drums, Michael Ball fiddle and Dave Draves on everything else.
