Description

Main performer

The Pairs (ON)

A self-confessed hardened, grumpy Canadian music industry professional had this to say about The Pairs. “Something happens every time I’ve been lucky enough to see The Pairs perform. A change comes over us all – a change you can see, and feel: Smiles spread across faces; eyes widen; ears perk up; and bodies swoon. Every time.” The thing is, it’s true. Classically trained vocalists with sibling harmonies, personal warmth and diamond-sharp arrangements, charming, disarming, genuine and dripping with talent, this trio ensemble is at the forefront not just of folk, but of Canadian music. Tell your mother, as they say on the radio. https://thepairsmusic.com

Opening performer

Mike Stack (AB)

Making a welcome return to the scene with a brand new album (Lucky Man (2025)), Mike Stack is a respected and beloved figure in Calgary's folk and alt country circles. CKUA’s Tom Coxworth and Allison Brock are joining the chorus of praise for his new material, with its approachable, mid-tempo reflections on life's losses and discoveries showcased in superbly crafted songs like Future and Past. Ably assisted by the expert hand of Steve Dawson in the booth, who adds his signature prowess on dobro and other things stringed, Stack is, as Tom opines, the songwriter Nashville should be listening to. www.mikestack.ca
