Raene is a singer, songwriter and producer based out of Vancouver, BC. She grew up listening to Imogen Heap, Queen, Electric Light Orchestra, and Ella Fitzgerald. Raene is passionate about creating a sense of belonging through her music. Her synesthesia (perceiving music and sound as colour) allows her to paint her songs with a distinctive musical palette. Raene released her new EP, “Organized Frequencies”, in May 2019 and continues to play shows around Vancouver, work in the music industry and is a happily recovering perfectionist.

My musical inspirations come from all over the world. As a culturally diverse artist, I grew up listening to classical music thanks to my mom, rock and roll oldies thanks to my dad, and South American boleros thanks to my abuela. I find that I am constantly inspired by new sounds and artists that push my limits and inevitably creep into my musical style - which is ever-evolving. After spending a year studying jazz New York City, I grew very fond of the expansive genre and began incorporating those elements into my songwriting. Lately, my music is taking the form of neo-soul fusions, with a new album in the works!
