Description
Whether novel, memoir, or non-fiction, style is key to vibrant and memorable writing. And yet for many writers, the concept remains elusive. In this three-hour workshop, participants will practice the techniques of description, characterization, and dialogue through the lens of style with an emphasis on sound, rhythm and sentence variation.
Kim Echlin is the award-winning author of Speak, Silence, the winner of the Toronto Book Award. Her novel The Disappeared won the Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers Award and was shortlisted for the Giller. Kim serves on the board of PEN International and lives in Toronto.
